Jonas Gutierrez A Credit To Newcastle United At World Cup

Perter Beardsley has come out today and said what most Newcastle fans will agree with – that Jonas Gutierrez is a credit to the Newcastle United club.

Jonas Gutierrez – integral part of Argentina team

Argentina won 2-0 yesterday against Greece and will now play Mexico in the round of the last 16, and must be favored to make the quarter finals.

While Jonas was  poor in the first half  of the first game against Nigeria, when he was at right back – he was a lot steadier   in the next 135 minutes of play and didn’t play yesterday after receiving two yellow cards.

But we expect Jonas to reclaim his place at right back against Mexico, as he is a huge favorite with Argentine manager Diego Maradona.

The former Newcastle great Peter Beardsley said today:

“Jonas is there on merit and I think it’s fantastic. It’s not like Diego Maradona is doing him a favor – Jonas is an integral part of the team.”

“He’s massive for the team and it’s essential that he’s there. He was the stand-out player for us last season and I know he will make a massive impact.”

“I think he’s a brilliant player – I love his attitude and his energy and he is a credit to the Newcastle team.”

If England cannot win this World Cup, then we can think of nothing better if Argentina wins the whole thing, and if that happens then Jonas will return to Newcastle as a hero.

Ed you’ve made a huge grammatical error – think you meant to write

England cannot win this world cup!

You’ve mistakenly included the word “if”

Yup, an awful game at RB and picking up 2 yellow cards, getting himself suspended.

    “A credit” to Newcastle. Sure…
