Newcastle Welcomed Back To Premiership

Inter-City Fairs Cup winning Newcastle United captain Bobby Moncur was presented with a commemorative Barclays Premier League  flag at St James’ Park yesterday.

The event was to welcome the famous Newcastle United club back to the Barclays Premier League, where they obviously belong.

Last season in their first season out of the Premier League since 1993, Newcastle walked away with the Coca Cola Championship with 102 points, 11 points more than second placed WBA,.

And the side had 30 league wins and were unbeaten in all home games for the first time since 1907, when Newcastle won the English League.

Last season was manager Chris Hughton’s first season as a full-time manager, and Chris brought the side together, after a nightmare summer,  and they won 6 of their first 7 games of the season,  drawing only the first one at WBA but winning the rest.

Newcastle were then on their way and never looked back, except for a slight hiccup in October, when they lost successive league games away at Nottingham Forest and Scunthorpe United.
