Lazio After Gutierrez – May Lose His Argentina Place Today

Newcastle winger and Argentine International Jonas Gutierrez is said to be attracting Italian interest from Rome club Lazio.

Jonas Gutierrez – Lazio now interested

The reports today suggest that Lazio new coach Edy Reja’s is keen o vastly timprove his squad and do better than a poor 11th place last season in the Italian League.

We heard a few weeks back that Spanish club Atletico Madrid, are also interested in the Newcastle player but we know that Magpie manager Chris Hughton does not want to lose any of his current squad, and we also understand Jonas is looking forward to life back in the Premier League with Newcastle.

It would take a ridiculous fee to sell any one of our players this summer, but we don’t think that will happen, and if it does the money Hughton gets will be used to bring other players into the squad.

And the news from the Argentina training camp (Pretoria)  is that coach Maradona was delighted with the performance of 22 year-old right back  Nicolas Otamendi, of Velez Sarsfield, in the 2-0 win over Greece, when he filled in for the suspended Jonas.

Otamendi is a good player, and we noticed how well he played in that game, which we covered for the Daily Telegraph, and he slotted in well for the South Americans,  and we think he will keep his place for tonight’s game against Mexico. In fact we wonder how much he would cost if Newcastle were interested?

An England and Argentina win today will see them matched up in the quarter finals – which should be some game.

Jonas is actually not very consistent and is not as reliable as he seems to be – we could get some good money for him though and bring someone in on the left who is even better for a similar price tag … Brazil’s Michel Bastos? Or KPBoateng who would e cheaper probably.
Simpson is not good enough for premier league and someone like Otamendi fits the Toon bill perfectly

    ‘Otamendi is a good player…’

And at only 22 that is a very good shout. A classy trio of Argies at the Toon would set us up very nicely – and probably make us more attractive for Messi to relocate at some point. Messi playing just behind Carroll, makes sense to me!!

Oh, was that the alarm clock….?

Otazmendi would cost 8 mill at least atm.
Leonel Galeano from Independiente could be a better option and a cheaper one,,since he’s only 18 and he’s allready capped once by Argentina.I’d say 4-5 mill would be more than enough to get him.

And as for the striking option goes, there’e no one i’d want more than Mauro Boselli from Estudiantes,a perfect predator in terms of goalscoring. He scored 32 goals in 57 games for Estudiantes.I believe that 7 mill could tempt his club to start ”some” kind of negotiations with us.

ANd for our most weakest area which is the midfield in terms of creativity i mean,,then if i had to choose 1 player which is posible to get, then that would be Karim Ziani from Wolfsburg….yes he would cost 6 mill at least, but for a player who practically owned the whole English National Team against Algeria, then he’s definetly worth every penny of that fee, especially now that he’s a non starter for Wolfsburg.

We can’t sell Jonas, as we have no cash to replace him. Decent attacking wingers cost a lot of cash.
