More England Excuses From Fabio Capello – But Give It Up

It seems that Fabio Capello is doing some soul searching to try to understand why his players froze at the World Cup and performed nowhere near their potential.

Fabio Capello – more excuses for England

A close friend of Capello said today:

“Fabio now thinks it would have been best to let the players go away with their wives, girlfriends and families at the end of the season.””They could have let off steam, had a rest and then come back fresh for the World Cup finals.”

“But he was so determined to do well in South Africa that he took them to Austria to train and prepare.” “The problem when he got there, though, was how lifeless and knackered the players were after a season in the Premier League.”

“He had never seen his players so tired and jaded – of course, by then it was too late to do anything about it.” “But he won’t make the same mistake again. He’s learned a valuable lesson.”

When you don’t win things then you have to some up with the excuses as to the why –  and the statement above is just that – another potential excuse and reason why England were completely hopeless and froze once again on the big stage, with all the world watching.

They were hardly a credit to England.

It has nothing to do with them being tired at all – or why are all the other players who have had long hard tough seasons too,  performing so well in this World Cup?

Wesley Sneijder and Arjen Robben didn’t look too tired for the Netherlands yesterday, as they knocked hot favorites Brazil out of the tournament 2-1, and they both had long European seasons with their clubs Inter-Milan and Bayern Munich with both reaching the European Champions League Final.

It’s always reasons or results and since we’ve had no results from England for 46 years – all we hear is all the reasons. which translate into excuses – it’s really that simple.

I hope you are not so condemnatory when NUFC start to get toasted in the Premiership this season, Ed. I’d hatye to see poor oul’ Chris Hughton on the end of such scathing criticism.

well, i was one of the optimistic fans who thought we had a grt opportunity to progress in this WC. but as a geordie n england fan i was inevitably let down once again 🙁
the players did look sluggish, nd unfit. but that doesnt explain why so many unfit, injured players were took to s africa. the 442 formation, the insisting of playin JT as left back, nd SG on left. keeepin heskey in 1st 11 (the lad gives it his all, but sadly thats not enough at this level).
so i guess its a start, but not nearly enough imo, too little too late.
the 2012 EC qualifiers start soon, so we’ll see who he picks, nd how the team fairs.
also i learnt yesterday of this rumour goin rnd, how JT was pissed off that SG had been caught havin extr maritial affairs, but wasnt stripped of captaincy. which drove a wedge between the london crew nd pool manure crew. oh dear, pathetic innit, but we seem to need reasons.

There’s always rumours going around, apparently he is messing round with his lasses sister. It’s a load of crap. She don’t have a sister, England just don’t have the talent that they seem to think they have. No imagination, flair, heart. We were a boring horrible team to watch and I hope things drastically improve for the euros. Personally, the only players I would keep in the squad are Rooney, Johnson, hart, a cole, all the rest should be retired and new youthful talent found.
