It’s been very quiet at the Newcastle club since the World Cup started on June 11th, but the good news is the club are continuing to work on contracts to tie down their best young players on Tyneside.
Tim Krul – very promising future ahead
21 year-old Andy Carroll is near to signing a good new deal, the club are working on a new Steven Taylor contract and 22 year-old goalkeeper Tim Krul will soon sign a new four year deal at the club.
An unnamed sourse close to Tim told the press today:
”Tim is all set to sign a new deal on offer at Newcastle,”
“Everything’s agreed and it all should be completed very soon.”
“He’ll be delighted to sign, as he loves Newcastle and has a great relationship with the fans.”
There’s no doubt Krul just loves the Newcastle club, and it could well be that he could already have had more games at other clubs.
For instance Joe Hart is almost exactly one year older than Tim and already has 166 first class appearances to his name, while Tim has just short of 40, and the goalkeepers are probably quite close in ability, with Hart hopefully the new England number one goalkeeper.
It could even be that Chris Hughton sends the 22 year-old goalkeeper out on loan next season, as he takes another look at returning Hexham-born goalkeeper Fraser Forster.
But the likelihood is that Fraser will end up again at Norwich City for next season, with Tim again trying to wrestle the number one jersey from 35 year-old Newcastle long serving goalkeeper, Steve Harper.
