Fode Mansare has admitted he is flattered by the interest from Newcastle United, but that may be bad news, because it doesn’t look like this player is good enough for Newcastle, at least not from his goal-scoring record.
Fode Mansare – flattered by Newcastle interest
There was news this morning in the French press that Newcastle may be interested in the 28 year-old Toulouse striker, who is apparently keen to leave the French club.
Wolves tried to sign the Guinea International in January, but the move failed to come to fruition, but looking at the player’s goal-scoring record today – it’s not good.
Newcastle are said to be willing to make a move for the Guinea International and the fee is said to be around £1.5M, and today Mansare talked to Sky Sports:
“I am flattered to be linked to a move to the Premier League and Newcastle is a very big club, who is back in the big time,”
“I want to be part of the story of African performers in the Premier League.”
Newcastle signed James Perch from Nottingham Forest for a small fee today – we don’t what the fee was – but Sky Sports is reporting Newcastle are ready to offer Mansare a full four year deal on Tyneside.
We hope Chris Hughton is not getting this player into Newcastle to score goals for the club, because he has only 8 goals in 106 appearances for the French club and for his country, Guinea, he has 44 caps with just 7 goals.
Of course he could still be a very good player – but he certainly doesn’t score too many goals.
