Frank Clark played over 400 times for the Newcastle United club and the Magpies’ legend is now a regional director for the League Manager’s Association (LMA).
Frank Clark – knows all about James Perch
And Frank has been at many Nottingham Forest games over the last few years and knows all about Newcastle’s new singing James Perch.
Frank told the Evening Chronicle today:
“I’m quite surprised Forest let him go.” “James came through the Academy system at Nottingham Forest, and he’s a promising young player.”
“He can play in a number of positions.” “He played left-back a lot last season, which isn’t his favorite position, and he’s just as comfortable at right-back.” “But he’s more a midfield player, really.”
“No-one’s guaranteed to be a success in the Premier League, but he’s had a good upbringing at Forest, and perhaps he needs a move.” “He’s been part of the furniture, and moving to the Premier League is fantastic for him.”
“He’ll be thrilled and I’m sure he’s got a good chance of success with Newcastle.” “Colin Calderwood will know James very well – he was a regular under him.” “He and Chris Hughton will have done their homework, and I hope he’s a big success at Newcastle United.”
We were impressed with Chris and Colin in the January transfer window, and a high percentage of the players they signed then certainly helped Newcastle to easily win the Coca-Cola Championship, and we are hoping they’ll have another good transfer window this summer.
We expect loan signings to possibly be the next big announcement at Newcastle, and the first through the door could be Tom Cleaverely, Kyle Naughton, Danny Welbeck, Jack Wilshere or Henri Lansbury – take your pick.

Comment #3Tom Cleaverely would be a good loan signing imo , backup to midfield, would be good cover or inpact sub.
Kyle Naughton – we should defonitly try signing , can play anywere in defence , especially right back because danny simpson isnt good enough for the premiership.
Jack Wilshere – Another good loan signing , good cover for routledge and jonas.
James perch imo is a quality signing, fair enough he isnt the best player and wont set the leauge alight, but he had a great game against newcastle at right back and kept jonas completly out of the game, and he can play center midfield, i would rather play him center mid than butt or smith.
I think we should try a sneeky loan move for mateja kezman ? amazing goal scoring record at psv , wasnt a bad player for chelsea but didnt get a sniff because of drogba, and he will either start upfront with carrol or be an impact sub ? let me know what you think about this please 🙂

Comment #4That said, Hughton may favour Rose due to his versatility – LB or LM

Comment #7isnt it funny how these taylor to liverpool stories are only appearing in the papers who have had run-ins with the club hierarchy and either been banned or reprimanded?

Comment #8davybtoon you can have 4 loans at any one time and 8 over the course of the season. i’d imagine we’ll end up with 2 or 3 by the end of the summer.
