Norwich Sign Goalkeeper – Will Forster Stay On Tyneside?

Norwich City signed 23 year-old goalkeeper John Ruddy from Everton yesterday.

Fraser Forster – staying at Newcastle next season?

Ruddy played at Motherwell on loan this year, and Newcastle were even reported to be interested in the player last January, and it would seem that Norwich will not now need Fraser Forster to join them on loan next season.

That doesn’t necessarily mean that 22 year-old Fraser will not still be sent out on loan next season, as a number of clubs would be only too pleased to have the player on loan.

But it does mean that Chris Hughton has a decision to make about whether to send out Tim Krul or Fraser Forster out on loan next season, as only one is needed to back-up  first-choice5 year-old goalkeeper Steve Harper.

Norway have been after Forster all summer after the Fraser had a terrific season at the East Anglia club, but last week Norwich manager Paul Lambert decided he couldn’t wait any longer – and so went out and bought Ruddy, who is a promising young goalkeeper.

It may be that Newcastle will want to keep Forster with them for next season, with  Tim Krul – who is about to sign a new four year contract at Newcastle – possibly being sent out on loan next season.

But with the rave reports coming in almost weekly last season about Forster Chris will at the very least take a good hard look at his young goalkeeper to gauge just how much he has improved over the last 12 months.

It is going to be hard trying to keep both our top talent young keepers at the club. I really don’t see how we will be able to do that.

One should get time in cup matches and harper for the league even though he’s only “5” lol.

Pretty sure he didn’t play for Norway, and even more sure that neither Norwich or Norway are in East Anglia. Norwich is ib Norfolk isn’t it?
