Newcastle Reported After Dutch U23 International

The Sun is reporting today that Newcastle United are weighing up a move for Dutch U23 International, Jonathan de Guzman, who is of Jamaican and Filipino descent, and therefore would obviously love the weather in Newcastle. 😀

Jonathan de Guzman – 22 year-old free agent from Feyenoord

The Scarborough, Canada born youngster turns 23 in September, and he has been capped 4 times by Holland at U21 level already (with 4 goals), and 6 times at the U23 level, and was only recently released by his Feyenoord club, after 11 years there.

Jonathan plays attacking midfield or out on the right wing and he stands 5’8″ tall.

But other clubs are also interested in the player, and he has already been offered deals at Spanish clubs Espanyol and Villarreal, but the good news is that he would prefer a move to England to play in the Premier League.

After starting his career at local club, North Scarborough S.C., Jonathan joined the Feyenoord Youth Academy and has been there ever since.

He played 127 times for the Dutch club with 26 goals, and it seems to us this lad would be a very decent signing for the Tyneside club.

Comments welcome.

Apart from his injuries, he would literally be my dream player, cruyff said he was the future of football, forget v.persie, sneijder etc, he was the complete player in hollands future. He has had two years of being set back in his progress
but is now raring to go, trust me this man is a 20 million pound player with so much flair.

Following on from my previous comments on this player I believe he is a MUST to sign. The sort of vital young quality we need in the Premiership. Are the powers that be aware, are they listening. Hope he is not another “one that got away”. It is the Sun so beware! Come on CH sign some flair.

Out of all the transfer rumors and speculations this would be an absolute coup for us.

Guzman is a Kuyt, Babel style player, can play in the hole, on the wing or up front. He has flair, an eye for killer passes and the goal.

He would be an immense singing for us…and to imagine it might be for free….

The NUFC board would most definitely grow in my eyes if they pull this off…

Tragically in Italy, the whole town of Pompei has been devastated by molten lava from Mount Vesuvius.

This would be an absolute ridiculous signing on a free. He’s the type of player that is way way way out of our price range normally.

If we sign this lad I’ll bare my arse in Fenwicks window. I heard rumours we were going to sign Mueller, Ozil and Schweinsteiger, can’t remember where I heard them like! I think I may have just made them up.

News also in, Ashley has offered Real Madrid 2 cigarette ends and a golf ball for Kaka. Ashley may be prepared to throw in a packet of balloons as well, but won’t bid any higher than this as Kaka is over 26 yrs of age.

he wanted to leave last year but no club could agree a transfer fee so he stayed another year. And now he wants a new challenge.

Haha – talking about stating the obvious, plus the Roman link, I was talking to a mate a few months ago. He was looking for something cool to do with a new girl he was dating. I told him that there was a beacon-lighting event running the full length of Hadrian’s Wall and that there was a big event happening for it in Wallsend.

Mate: Why are they having it there?
    Me: Because it’s Wallsend.
Mate: What’s that got to do with Hadrian’s Wall?
Me: The clue’s in the name. It’s WALL’S END.
Mate: Ooooh, it that why it’s called that?
    Me: Yes. You idiot.

My friend – for what it’s worth – is in his 30’s, is Geordie born and bred and works for the police. In intelligence.

I really hope this deal is on. Jonathon De Guzman has real talent and electric speed. He would bring the type of offence we are missing in Newcastle United. And he is a free agent! Very surprising! This is a real talent. CH go get him.

He’s a very talented player but he’s had serious injury problems over the past couple of seasons so I’m not sure how good an investment he would be. Regardless, I fully expect him to sign for a big side in La Liga or possibly a better Premiership side than us – I doubt we stand a cat’s chance in hell of signing him.
