News today that Championship club Burnley FC are are close to getting Newcastle United goalkeeper Fraser Forster on loan for next season.
Fraser Forster – Burnley interested – if he’s allowed out on loan next season
Wallsend-born Burnley boss, Brian Laws, has been looking for a new goalkeeper for a while, and the reports suggest he is now looking to take Forster to Turf Moor for a season-long loan deal.
Forster was at Norwich last season, and got rave reviews for his performances at the East Anglia club, and kept 21 clean sheets in 42 total appearances, and is likely to be capped for the England U21 side shortly.
Our information is that the Newcastle manager is still to decide whether to send Tim Krul or Fraser Forster out on loan next season, as both 22 year-old goalkeepers will not be staying on Tyneside next season – but Chris Hughton has still not decided which goalkeeper will be available for a loan deal.
Whichever one goes out on loan will get more first team games, and the one who stays will have an opportunity to fight 35 year-old Steve Harper for the number one position on Tyneside.
