Dan Gosling Decision Expected Within 48 Hours

Since Newcastle were the first club to talk to Dan Gosling about his future last Wednesday, when Dan visited the Benton training grounds, there has been an almighty rush for the free agent’s signature.

Dan Gosling – talking with other clubs

Dan was in London on Friday discussing a move with West Ham, and Sunderland have also entered the race for the 20 year-old very promising midfielder.

But there is other news that even more PL clubs are due to speak with the Devon-born player over the next day or two, and Dan is expected to announce his decision within 48 hours.

It’s very likely that other clubs will offer a bigger wage deal than the Newcastle club will, but Gosling has said he will decide his future more on football reasons than money reasons – we’ll see.

And news in the Sunday Sun that Dan has held a second round of talks with Newcastle on Friday, so there may still be a chance, and of course Dan will also have a better chance to get first team games at Newcastle at the moment, than at other clubs.

One way to look at it,  is that if Dan chooses another club, it probably will be the bigger money that was the pull, whatever he says, but if that’s the way it goes, he was probably not the right player for Newcastle.

But we have to hope that Dan will choose Newcastle United, for all the right reasons.

He will go to the highest payer. If he sees things entirely in terms of money rather than the bigger picture at NUFC then the Mackems and Bubble Blowers can have him.

Exactly what you said Ed. For monetary reason, he can go to other clubs. We need passionate players who want to be part of the team.

if he has seen st james’ park then his mind will be made up, there is no way you can turn down 50 thousand supporters guranteed every week. unless hes a celebrity footballer wanting money and in that case we dont want him.

It would have to be ALOT more money to choose the Mackem dung heap over the majesty of St James’. A serious flaw in character would be revealed and we would thereby be better off without him.

I think Gosling will end up at West ham. They have an awesome youth set up and he will fit in well there. The same can be said about us now we are more focused on the youngsters. Fingers crossed though. Gosling alongside Vuckic in midfield is a mouth watering prospect in the near future.

Well in fairness, we are only after the lad because he’s suddenly available and FREE. Can’t really blame him for auctioning himself off but its a bit of a laugh considering he will only be taking up a place on somebody’s treatment table until Xmas. No-one knows if he’ll have lost a yard or what.

And the Mirror says he HAS signed for the Toon.

Paul the Encephalopod says, “Gozza has signed; The Gosling has Landed; Gettin, you beaut!” ….or words to that effect.
