Nile Ranger And Haris Vuckic Both Shine On Saturday

Newcastle United manager Chris Hughton has talked again about our teenage Slovenian midfielder Haris Vuckic, and also London-born striker Nile Ranger.

Haris Vuckic – good game and great goal Saturday

It will be very interesting to see how Haris performs in pre-season, because if this lad is as good as we think he is, he should be showing through this season – big time.

The 17-year-old scored a terrific goal  in Saturday’s 3-0 win at Carlisle United, and it’s now part of Chris’ job to bring the youngster through the ranks at the club, and Haris could feature quite a bit this season.

Hughton told BBC Newcastle:

“He is a talent, he’s a player who we think has got a very good future at the club,” “We look forward to seeing him enjoy a promising career in a Newcastle shirt.”

Both Haris Vuckic and 19 year-old Nile Ranger had good games at Brunton Park, and will have done themselves no harm, with Chris still having to make the decision whether to send them out on loan next season.

Nile Ranger – good goal on Saturday

Chris talked about the young lads:

“They have not done themselves any harm,””Of course Ranger was involved more last season than Vuckic was, and he has developed.”

“Vuckic is a young player who was injured last season, so he’ll be delighted to have got through a good pre-season so far.”

We would expect at least on of these two youngsters to be sent out on loan next season, and with the club currently having so many strikers, it will probably be Nile Ranger.

Comments welcome.

I dont think well see the back of Shola until the end of this hopefully stabilizing season. How long is left on his contract?

i think they will both feature in the team next season. I think we dont have a strong bench if we let these guys go on loan. get 2 injuries and our team wont look that strong so need both of them there.

We shouldn’t loan these youngsters out, give them both long contracts, And involve them in every single squad next year, both are the future of this team, I’m excited at the prospect of this midfeild 3 in years to come.

Although he is a great guy, and somewhat of a cult hero, it is time for him to move on. Injury prone and never really proved a shit in the Premiership. And he has had PLENTY of chances. I am all for a sale of both Ameobi and Xisco. Could bring us some important millions.

These 2 are our future. Both have showed how talented they are. It will be Carroll and Ranger up top. And Haris Vuckic playing just under them in the future.

Vuckic is a big lad for 17, so i think we should English him up abit and work on heading and hold up play to go with his flair and skill, to make the complete player.

Sounds abit anti-football but it wont do him any harm.

I reckon we hold on to all our young talent and let them play in our cup games, with Barton as there captain. If he’s as good as he thinks he is well thats 2 cups in the bag:)
