Hughton Shoots Down Most Of Today’s Newcastle Rumors

As we said very early this morning,  this has been a busy day of transfer speculation surrounding Newcastle United.

Chris Hughton – gunslinger shoots down rumors

But Chris Hughton has been asked about most of the rumors out today, and in true gunslinger mode, he has shot down nearly every single one of them.

Yesterday, Newcastle were linked with Real Madrid (former) great Raul but her shot that one down yesterday and news today of Scunthorpe forward Gary Hooper, Benjani and Marseilles midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa, have all been gunned down by Chris.

The only one of them we are disappointed with is Gary Hooper, since the 22 year-old  looks a very decent young player, but the others are just way too old – and past their best.

Hughton admitted he is a fan of  France international Ben Arfa,  but the manager has said that none of the above players will be arriving at St James’ Park anytime soon (like never).

Hughton also said the report that Benjani had been training with Newcastle is also false.

This is what Chris said today:

“It’s natural that we get linked with players but none of those names are accurate,” “Raul would have to take a huge pay cut to come here – I don’t think he’s going to do that!”

“The Benjani rumour is just wrong – he hasn’t been training with us and there is nothing in the Gary Hooper rumour either.”

“I read about Ben Arfa. He is a cracking player and it’s nice to see us linked with him, but there has been absolutely no contact there whatsoever.”

Well – he didn’t say anything about the rumor linking us with former Arsenal midfielder Flamini – so maybe there’s some truth in that one – but one in five rumors being true is far too high a percentage – so maybe that’s nonsense as well. 😀

Comments welcome.

I’m with you m8. Flamini has premierleague experience with arsenal before. Sign him up. He plays mid and left or right back.
