Chris Hughton Still Pondering Over Loan Moves

There are still no decisions on which youngsters Chris Hughton will send out on loan for the coming season.

Nile Ranger – needs games next season

And that’s still dependent on a number of factors, including how well the lads play in pre-season, and how well the first-teamers perform in pre-season too.

In the case of Nile Ranger, we think he will probably be sent out on loan, but he’s looked good in pre-season so far, so Chris will want to assess the progress he has made over the next few weeks.

There would be plenty of Championship clubs only too willing to take the 19 year-old England U19 International on loan,  but this lad looked good in the first half of last season, when given his chance,  and if he has come on enough over the last 12 months Chris Hughton may well feel he’ll get enough Newcastle first team appearances,  to keep him on Tyneside.

But if Nile stays then there will be question marks over Xisco and Leon Best,  and at least one of the strikers will be moved out.

Ranger’s agent Nick Rubery told the Newcastle Journal this morning.

“He’s doing well in pre-season so there’s no rush at the moment for him to go anywhere,”

“If after a few games he’s obviously not going to get a look-in we’ll review the situation but first and foremost he wants to play for Newcastle.”

The main thing for the very promising youngster, is that he needs to play, like a number of our other young lads.

And that’s only one of the jobs Chris has at Newcastle – to ensure he brings the very promising youngsters through at just the right pace on Tyneside.

Really look forward to seeing him get some more games under his belt, imagine the FA said that no clubs could make anymore signings.

I think in 3-5 years time this would be an AMAZING team if every player achieves their full potential

Turkish magpie:- im sorry but tavernier is terrible, and never will be a good player, the only ones in that side i rate are krul, kadar, enrique, guthrie, and vuckic, the rest are average, s.taylor is one of the most overated players i have even seen in a toon shirt, and carroll is decent, but will never be top draw, he will score 7 goals next season max, enrique is the best player we have by miles!!

s.taylor lacks position sense, and gets turned so easily, hopefully will learn something off big sol, and carroll has a woeful first touch, and his awareness needs to improve, but the worst thing out of everything is his lack of balance

Id love to see Ranger play for Rangers or Celtic in the SPL that way he will play every week and will get goal scoring chances every week, the lad will be full of confidence f0r coming back to us if he can get 20-25 goals and an SPL winners medal.

Taylor has made mistakes playing for Newcastle over the years, but to say he lacks positional skill in my opinion is rather premature…..

Agreed, Steven Taylor still has a lot to learn but playing with one of the best will make him a better player, possibly an English international player.

We also have Williamson, Colo and young Kadar who will learn from playing alongside Sol…

I see guiseppe rossi has knocked in two against spurs, shame we never really looked at getting him permanently.

thats not a bad idea. Surely thompson would know how to use him at celtic being familiar with him n all. Would give him a chance to hone his finishing touch in that league. I’m for it till jan and then reassess him futher after that to make sure he’s playing and growing enough.

Doha mag:- premature he has had plenty of time now, he is 24, had plenty of prem experience, and in my opinion hasnt improved much, and his injury record is woeful, i would sell if we got offered more than 5m, he only has 1 year on contract, and from people i know, he is an arrogant prick, the rest of the squad dont like him, so i would be surprised if he there much longer anyways

Just back from Estes Park in Colorado where the local Magpies were #1 in working the dumpsters and parking lot droppings. From what I’ve seen of ManU in America, let Cleverly go to some other PL team on loan so we will have a couple of chances to give him career ending injuries. No wait. he was only up against MLS riff-raff. BAck here in Charloote, NC Bolton looks like they have no midfielders- we may be home favorites when they come to Newcastle. Tottenham looking lost at sea, or overwhelmed by our summer heat-your choice. And good thing Portsmouth was relegated, their travel agent has tried to kill them by scheduling 28+ hour trips between cities-or he is saving money on hotel expense by keeping them on the road. Perhaps he lost a large wager on them.

If I were CH, I’d do with Ranger what SAF did with Cleverly & Welbeck last season. SAF sent them out for polishing-just make sure Ranger is placed under a good coaching staff.

Geordielad880 – Not disputing your comments and agree he has an ego that is bigger than his ability. Just he’s been with us for many years and we need to look after our own.

He’s 24 and really hope he extends his contract with Newcastle this summer; or like you say, we sell him…….

    ST is our future skipper….

do you realise he has asked for 55k per week? that alot to demand, he thinks cos smith, nolan, barton etc are on that he should be, he has proven nothing in my opinion, i dont rate him as a player or person, you cant question his commitment on the pitch, but he lacks quality

i dont think ST lacks quality, he has been the most consistent player weve had for the last 3 or 4 years! It is also important to keep him because he is a home grown talent, that most teams lack and you definielty cannot question his passion!

freddie he does lack quality which is why not one big club has ever made a move for him, its always been paper talk, he lacks pace, a football brain, gets caught out of position so easily, collocini is twice the footballer he is

u guys having a go at tyles is a bit harsh.people are calling him overated but i think hes a better defender than john terry was, coming tru the ranks at the same age.people forget his stil only yng,and what hes atchieved at eng u-21,he realy does have the potential to develop further.you can see what milner has blossemd to in short time and i realy think tyles has the same make up and potential to go on be the same, hes at the right age, where a player can quickly go from good,to top class in a matter of a season or two, just got to keep him injury free.lol

He’s not worth 55k per week at the mo and doubt any PL side would offer him that kind of deal either.

Still want him to stay with the toon as I see him as a future Newcastle captain, maybe 40k per week……

If he doesn’t sign, we sell, but who will buy a player with a 3 month injury? Newcastle maybe; i.e Goslin on a free……

he will end up leaving on a bosman free can see it now, and if thats what he wants fair enough, should have sold him when we had the chance, he wants to see the clubs ambition before commiting to another contract, if he was that commited to the club like harper etc, he wouldnt be going on like that

Hes a canny kidd,n i havnt got a bad word about him on a personal level.by all acounts, andy carrols the arragraet one.not involvin jaw gate scandal.lol.think he needs a good run of games to help him,n i think its a mater of time before he signs, hes current contact isnt up to much i can remember,20k mark i think,so id say 35k if hes going to play a major role the remainder of season.

I would much rather get Best and Xisco out on loan than Ranger. I have a feeling Ranger could and should be needed. The best hold up player we have at the club and was given nowhere near as many opportunites as Carroll and got displaced by that donkey Best.

S Taylor, yes a geordie but very average.
