Are Newcastle About To Announce Tom Cleverley Signed On Loan?

There is news that this week is the deadline week for Tom Cleverley and his club  Manchester United, to choose the Premier League club Tom will play at next season.

Tom Cleverley – about to sign for Newcastle on loan?

And the two clubs mentioned the most are Blackpool and Newcastle United,  with the favorite being the famous Tyneside club, and said to be Tom’s first choice.

The only possible problem we see is if Sir Alex Ferguson is demanding that Tom be a starter at Newcastle, but that could have been made up news.

And surely if Chris Hughton can assure Alex that Tom will get lots of playing time on Tyneside – that should be enough and Tom should be signing soon – and this week too.

The 20-year-old midfielder is in some demand since he was impressive in the  Red Devils’ pre-season tour of North America, with a goal against both Celtic and the MLS All-Stars.

Ferguson recently said he may decide to give Tom the chance to establish himself at Old Trafford this season, such was his form in America, but we think he’ll be shipped out on loan for more playing time.

And if  Newcastle get him for the season – that’s another good signing made by Chris Hughton this summer. Chris has had very little money to spend but still has done well to already bring in three good players.

Tom would be a great signing for next season, and would add more class to the Tyneside squad.

Comments always welcome.

I think Chris Hughton will bring him in just in case a winger gets injured and he can cover up. But, dont make other teams youngsters better, make our own Samuel Adjei and Haris Vuckic better.

Man Utd won’t accept the bid if we only want him as a backup.

If CH offer him first team football, roultedge would be dropped.

we got ryan taylor, guthrie that can play as right winger.

howay baro, my fellow american geordie.if
hughton can secure this young lad’s services
for the season it will have been another class
transfer window. the gaffer is doing shrewd but
cracking business. just think lads if we get
cleverly on loan we will have dumped about 1.5
mil into the market and got 3 top class players
and 1 unproven but talented utility man. if you
combine the players from the january window with
the summer signings plus cleverly our gaffer looks
like a genius. the only player he picked up that
looked like a bust was best but like a kept saying
last year even he was good he just was pressing to
much and hes still young. now he has come around
and slowly but surely if we keep this up we could
build a top half side on the cheap. then ashley
can dump a big chunk of money in since our books
will be balanced and we can get over that hump and
back into europe. 3 years lad and we will at least
be in the europa league. either by spot on league
    or bringing home the cup….

Do you think Ferguson will let Cleverly Leave on loan this season after hearing him wax lyrical about the lad on tour? CH will NOT guarantee first team football, he couldnt….

I have a theory that this could be a smokescreen and that CH, being very shrewd, is trying to either lower wage demands or fee for a true target?? Just a theory……..

(thats me angry bit at the end there)

I think we will get Cleverley, yet another decisive move by CH.

    Guthrie (right)
    Ryan Taylor (Both)
    Vuckic (Both)

i think it would be a good signing.

he doesnt necessarily have to guarantee a starting role, just a place in the squad playing some games and being on the bench in others. as i think he will strugle to get a regular place on the man u bench never mind get a game because of the quality in their squad.

i also think this is why we should loan out vuckic/ranger at least for half a season rather than sit on the bench all the time they can play reqular 90mins for someone else

Some people are seriously stupid. “Don’t sign him, it’ll only benefit other teams”. While it will benefit Man U, it will also benefit us, as he will add class to our squad. Do you seriously think if the likes of Adjei and Vukcic were good enough we would need to bother bringing in somebody else? Obviously not. He’s a good player, and will be much better back up than anybody we currently have.

Angryman the Angry fan, at last someone else sees what I’ve been saying since the start of the transfer window. It started with smoke screens and it will end with smoke screens. That’s why I rubbish nearly all of these rumours.

Xisco didn’t look too shabby on the left against PSV. Not a natural wide man, but I’ve seen far worse.

More options on the left are what we need and if he fills the brief then great, he costs nothing, obviously has potential and leaves money to get another attacking option.
Fair enough it benefits man’ure in the long run but we need to get through this season first and stay up…..sign him up…..

I hope we don’t because for some reason he will get in the team when he shouldn’t he isnt of the calibre of Vuckic, Also we better bloody BUY someone, we got promoted EVERY club spend alot of money to stay up, Wolves spend over 6 Million, Stoke spend over that so we need to atleast buy some quality! i really think Ashley gave out to Haughton like less than 3 Million :(,

Cleverley’s a rare talent, with great touch, vision and skills that remind me of your Gazza. Tom scored on the tour last week with an instinctive touch that took the ball over the last defender, then calmly volleyed it past the keeper. Just like Gazza did to Hendry against Scotland. The boy’s a rarity, especially as he’s English. Most of us reds would rather he stays at United to bolster the midfield creativity options – can’t rely on Scholes for ever…so I think whoever gets him will be made up. Just ask Watford fans what they think. Could be even better with you lot!

This to me is a smokescreen. NUFC is after someone to buy you watch.

NUFC have had a bid turned down for Ben Arfa, (bid wass low as he in not proven in EPL and the club want rid) we should up it to get him on a permanent deal, but not too much or on loan with the view to buy after with first refusal on the deal they want now not at the end of this year as his value will go up.

CH knows just how good this lad is in his league but being proving yourself at EPL is a different thing.

CH is very clever and will do the same thing that MD has done at Everton but only better.

CH is very good in the transfer windows; from what he as done at Newcastle to date he will only make us stronger by the end of next year and the toon will not be the embracement of years gone.

Well done CH and staff for getting us back to the PL.

Not been on here since it shut down but really pleased you re-opened it Ed as you do a corking job imo.
Now regarding Cleverley i`m sorry to go against the common census but it stinks for me!
How pathetic that we are now having to take players from the “Big Clubs” and give them experience in the top flight only to hand them back with a “Thank You” i hope he`s now a better for Your team at the end of season!
Give our Own players the chance to gain experience and if not good enough then so be it we`ll go down but at least with our team not a bunch of players bummed from other teams!!!!
