Newcastle Reported To Have Had £4M Bid For Ben Arfa Rejected

Well, would you believe it, Newcastle are reported to have had an initial bid for Olympique Marseille winger Hatem Ben Arfa rejected by the French club.

Ben Arfa – initial Newcastle bid rejected?

This is according to reports in France, but of course these have been wrong in the past, so we cannot necessarily believe there’s any truth in them – but what’s new?

Chris Hughton seems to have been interested in the player for a while now, and reports suggest the 23-year-old is keen to move to England, but he doesn’t have a good record at Marseilles for getting on with the other players – or even the current manager.

The news suggests the very skillful player has attracted attention from Manchester United, Chelsea and Everton in the past, and is certainly an excellent young prospect in France.

Newcastle are believed to have had a bid of around £4M already rejected, and the evaluation of Ben Arfa is said to be around £7M by the Marseilles club.

It waits to be seen whether Newcastle, who are looking for bargains this summer, will increase their bid, although the news in France  is that the Tyneside club will indeed increase their offer.

We’ll see.

Comments welcome.

    TRANSLATED VERSION UNDER-

Michel on Tuesday morning Ouazine advised and friend of the middle Marseille Hatem Ben Arfa, was central to Robert Louis-Dreyfus, where he met with athletic director of OM, after talking on the phone. While Ben Arfa participated in training with his (future ex) partners, Michael Ouazine had again rejected offers from Werder Bremen. Klaus Allofs insisted in person to enlist the former Lyonnais .
Hatem Ben Arfa but refuses a destination other than England. Having shown a major interest in the player, the leaders of Newcastle are currently on deaf ears, but their silence is more like a war of nerves because everything seems set between the club, Olympique Marseille and Ben Arfa to finalize the loan with option to buy Ben Arfa.

shit I was only telling my old man this the other day. I thought this would happen and the cleverly deal is back up to this should it fall through. but watch this space as what i didnt realise is liverpool are also after him…. we will get pipped at the last minute like we always do and then get cleverly. problem is we may miss out on both if we dont act quick and we are in big need of a player like this as one of the wingers will pick up an injury and we have not decent back up if this happenes.

Come on CH you can do it just shag cashley for the toon and he will up his bid, everyones a winner!!!!

BTW: You heard it here first

Ben Arfa seems like the player that needs an arm put around him and told how good and how important he is to the club. We have had players like that in the past but with managers that would not do that. Bobby Robson did it with his players and it brought us CL Football. I believe Hughton is the right man to do this with this type of player.

By the sounds of things this guy is exactly what we need, however i hope he doesn’t have thje attitude of Charles Insomnia, many people have said that and thats the last thing we need for a team built on team spirit.

Also thankyou Ed for putting the poll i suggested up, much appreciated as i would love to see other people’s opinions on the striker situation

his attitude is very poor, but i think hughton will get the best from him, i would only get on loan with an agreement with a fixed price if we want to make it perm, no doubting his talent, i think newcastle will suit him, as he will be the star player in the squad

CH has said he has got money not being funny but like 6/7 million is a good price with a lad of this promise , does no one remember we payed like 16 mil for owen :L what a joke that was , not saying splash all the cash on a few players but he has got 2 good free signings and he bought perch who couldnt have cost that much so we should definately pay the money for this lad.

every football manager game i always bought him for newcastle

he used to be world class about 2 seasons ago, but his form dropped lately.

he would suits best in BPL, and i see him as a winger (in either side)

    go buy him!
