Newcastle After Bayern Munich Striker?

There is news today coming out of Lancashire, that Newcastle United may be interested in Deniz Yilmaz of Bayern Munich.

Deniz Yilmaz – are Newcastle interested?

The report is really about Sam Allardyce’s Blackburn Rovers, and the fact they will need to pay out a whopping £700K for the Turkish striker.

From our records, this is the first time we’ve been linked with this player, and the news is that Bayern Munich coach Louis van Gaal has already told Deniz that he is now free to find a new club.

The 22-year-old 5’11” player has appeared 8 times for the Turkey U21 side, but has hardly played for the Bayern first side, having made  88 appearances with 27 goals for the Bayern Munich II side – the Bayern Munich Reserve side.

It would appear strange if we do go after this lad, since we have Xisco, Leon Best and Nile Ranger – all young strikers trying to make their mark at Newcastle, and we’d hardly want a fourth.

Stoke City are also said to be interested, but it would appear this could be a made-up report,  and we don’t hold much credance in this story – but of course we could be wrong.

Comments welcome.

Mmm, people are desperate for us to spend £6 mil on a player that was sold by lyon because of his attitude & now his current team. Don’t get me wrong, I think his explosive talent is just what we need but I can also understand why we would want to take him on loan first.

we have been linked loads to the lad in the press, when i was on holiday in turkey a few weeks ago, i asked a bayern fan about him, and he said he is alright, but nothing special, so we dont need another one of them in our squad. I’m also wondering if we are selling ameobi, as he wasnt in the squad against deportivo, and hughton said we had no injuries but the ones we already had before the game

He is another player with great potential and he may be seen as having a bad attitude like ben arfa but doesn’t alot of our team have “bad attitudes” barton nolan carrol smithh but houghton has them playing so why not go for this kid of he has the ability and might be great signing

At 700 thousand its a decent buy but we need some proven class not some cheap alternative.

Looks like the propaganda machine has converted a few into bean counters watching Ashleys fortune (cheap crap strips included ?)
For gods sake £6.7m would bring in a newly capped french winger and a decent striker.
Not only that the French kid actually wants to come here !
Look folks Stoke and Wolves, Wigan and others are spending millions strengthening their sides and hat have we done, caught one mediocre Perch for peanuts and shafted Everton by enticing Gosling with a much higher salary, so much for his loyalty then.
Where you gonna get a french winger and a young decent center for £6.7m ?
And you guys think it`s too much ?

Oh! it`s a proven striker you want, like who for instance, Torres, Bent, Cole, Drogba, Rooney, face it if you are counting your money there`s no such thing available for ten bob.
Talk sense ,a proven striker is not available for the amount Ashley is willing to spend, dont you get it yet ? it`s bargain basement stuff only.

I never said proven premier league goalscorer , I said proven player, this guy doesnt get a game for his club, understandable like but signing someone like this will not keep us up simple as that. by all means get him in, but it wont solve our goalscoring problem not in our first season anyways

Lets not split hairs, we are in the EPL a proven striker is not someone from the lower leagues, we have one of those “Best”, this kid plays for one of the top clubs in europe, not easy to oust the strikers at Beyern, thats why he wants out .
