Ben Arfa To Newcastle Tuesday Or Wednesday Next Week

The Ben Arfa saga seems to be coming to some conclusion, and we have to hope that he arrives next week on Tyneside.

Ben Arfa – arriving at Newcastle Tuesday or Wednesday next week?

There is news that Liverpool may be after the player – but on a permanent move, but we suspect this may be a bogus report – we hope this is a bogus report.

There’s other news coming out of France that the President of Olympique Marseilles, Jean-Claude Dassier, has been on TV in France talking about the possible move of Ben Arfa to Newcastle.

And this is what Jean-Claude Dassier said:

“We should have news on Tuesday or Wednesday. If the offer from NUFC is serious, and if Hatem agrees, the transfer is possible”.

That’s almost the type of thing you hear in bogus reports on a Sunday morning.

Maybe, if all goes well, he could even, perhaps, join Newcastle.  Yes we’re exaggerating – but just a little.

But we like the fact that it could happen early next week, so we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed, but Ben Arfa alone will not be enough, and Newcastle need at least two more signings in the next 23 days.

Comments welcome.

Think he will have a taxi pre booked down to merseyside as Liverpool are now in the mix…snooze and lose always the way with Big Mick and Derek Dastardly.

We need him – that is obvious. Was pleased with the presence eventually of Lovenkrands on Saturday. Undeniable that we need some midfield playmaking!

Against Rangers we lacked penetration. Is Sol still on honeymoon?

What happened to my last post Ed???

Anyways, if Cessepool are after this guy, they must have won the lottery because according to news reports, they’re also looking at SWP & Crouch too, so unless they’ve already been takenover & Roy given his £150m warchest, I doubt they’ll want our guy too…. saying that, if he did have a warchest ofthat amount, he’d not be looking at £6m players for sure… lol

i would be very very surprised if we sign anyone over 1-2 million , ashley is just going to spin the roullette wheel and see where we finish , thats why houghton is in the job as he wont kick up a fuss , im all for saving money and stopping the waste that has went on at our club for 8 0f the last 12 years ( missing out the robson era ) , but there has to be investment in the team , if you stand still in any business you go backwards

For me, this is a call-out cry by their president for another team to come in, and offer better dosh for the lad.

Great if we get him, but don’t surprised if he ends up at a club that hasn’t been linked yet 😉

I’ve said it before – CH seems capable of only focusing on one signing at a time. There should be two signings this week, but he can only bring in one then start his search for the next player. Since they expressed interest in Ben Arfa there have been zero rumors or articles about other players. Not a good sign of things to come or NOT to come if you know what I mean.

I have just bought the sunday sun and it also claims the deal will go through early next week, it also says that jean-claude dassier said last night “He wishes to go to england and if he accepts the contract offer from newcastle the deal should happen”, i dont believe for a second the marseille president would say this if he was expecting a cash offer from liverpool, which according to one report would be in the region of 12 million.

I`m a bit confused as to why this guy has`nt been snapped up by another EPL side.
Apparently both the German side and a Russian side have made substantial bids for the guy, but he seems determined to join an EPL side.
Yes I`m aware he is reputed to be a bit difficult, but the PL is full of playes with that rap, how difficult can he be?
A France international whom everyone knows can play for £6m. and no bites, go figure ?
