Alex Ferguson – Give Hughton Credit For Newcastle Promotion

Manchester United legendary manager Alex Ferguson was speaking today before the Premier League  kick-off for his side against Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Monday night.

Sir Alex Ferrguson – give Chris Hughton some credit

And Alex has said he was surprised how quickly Newcastle United came back to the top flight of English football, following their relegation fifteen months ago, and he says you have to give new manager Chris Hughton credit for that.

This is what Sir Alex said today:

“I didn’t expect Newcastle to come back so quickly.” “You could sense there was going to be an upheaval in terms of players leaving and they did sell quite a few.”

“It is not easy to go down and come back at the first go. Very few teams have done that over the years.” “But you have to give Chris Hughton credit.”

“He wasn’t everyone’s choice as manager but he dealt with all the financial constraints Newcastle had last season and still got all his players playing for him.”

“And with their fanatical support, they had a big advantage.”

Good words from Alex, and they happen to be true too.

We have always thought that Chris hasn’t been given the credit he deserves for what he has done these last 13 months or so at the Newcastle club.

And whatever happens to his Newcastle management career from now on, we’ll always remember the tremendous job he did for the Newcastle United club last season – nothing can ever take that away from him.

Chris is in Newcastle United’s history books now – whether he likes it or not.

And now we have to spoil the party for the Red Devils on Monday night by stealing at least a point at Old Trafford.

And despite those doom and gloomers, who will always be around, if  Newcastle can play at their fighting best, and Manchester United have a little bit of an off day (or should that be night?), then we could do it – anything is possible in football after all – even a Newcastle draw (or win?) at Old Trafford.

Howay The Lads!!

HTL, any manager with half the amount of trophies as SAF would be happy, when it comes to football ( and kidology) he certainly seems to know what he’s talking about.

By lephocéen.frThe attacking midfielder of OM Hatem Ben Arfa is already in Newcastle. In full battle with its leaders, the International would tricolor flew in the day for England to negotiate a contract directly with Magpies. His departure from the OM seems inevitable .

Mac, it wouldn’t make sense for the Marseilles President to keep him for the sake of annoying him. If he says I will not play for this team every again there is nothing he can do.

All managers, owners, presidents et cetera have to work from a business model and keeping employees that don’t come to work is stupid. They will fire them (or in this case sell/loan them).

It all started with Jean-Marc Bosman doing what he did. It’s in a way very similar to what Ben Arfa’s doing now except Bosman had a proper law backing him

Not really all they have to do is is raise his price to something we or no one else will pay. Tell him he’s staying,he refuses to play he’s in breach of contract so no wages need to be paid.
He has alot more to lose both financialy and professionaly.

If that happens though they’ve lost £800,000 from the loan deal, plus the money from the law suit and they’re the ones that have lost money, which they couldn’t really do unless they have a lot of financial backing.

If they just let him go they gain £800,000 and have the same outcome: him not playing for them.

Basically it’s a choice of £800,000 or the amount they get for breach of contract
