Joey Barton Reveals All – The Reason Behind That Moustache

Big news today on the the Newcastle united front, and it has to do with that topic of conversation on Tyneside – what on earth is that thing above Joey Barton’s lip.

Joey Barton – item for discussion – what’s that above his lip

And just watch Joey have a stormer on Monday night, because a win in Newcastle’s Premier League opener at Old Trafford, will mean the Liverpudlian can finally shave off the thing that grows every day above his lip.

The moustache – we think that’s roughly how to describe it, but that’s still open to some interpretation – and it has certainly been a big talking point amongst fans of late, and Joey has tried to explain things to Newcastle United TV this morning:

“It started out with about eight of us getting together and we were saying to each other ‘you couldn’t grow a beard,'” . “One thing led to another and before I knew it, I’d agreed to grow a moustache.

“It was meant to be for the Sky Sports photos, shown in the line-ups before each game,  but they have been and gone, so we said it would be until we got our first win.”

“So it could be here for a while longer if we don’t get off to a good start – but hopefully it’ll be gone soon.”

And Barton has been ribbed no end about the moustache, which we have to say looks just a little odd above that lip – sorry Joey.

The former Manchester City player continued and said his missus is one of the people who do not like the appearance of his mustache one little bit:

“I’m hopeful I’ll get rid of it, because I know how ridiculous it is! It’s got a bit of flack and a few people have said it’s ridiculous – and my missus is one of them!”

“There are a few knocking about. Ryan Taylor had one and shaved it off, Alan Smith’s got one and Andy Carroll has one, but it’s reminiscent of a 12-year-old in the offset of hormone development! It’s just a bit of banter and the lads are buzzing off it.”

“There’s always banter, but we’re professional when we need to be and over the weeked, the onus will shift towards Monday night’s game and how we approach that.”

“You won’t see as much laughing and joking – but we’ll still be just as together.”

Well that’s the aim then – we want to see Joey Barton clean shaven above and below his lips come Tuesday morning.

Ashleys big idea was investing in youth players etc, and developing them, and bringing them through, which is a good idea, well it is if you give the players a chance, we have krul, kadar, vuckic, and ranger who i think are good enough now, and if they arent they should be loaned out, as reserve football doesnt really help their development, they need competitive football.

We also need a decent scouting network, ours is truly terrible, man utd have scouts actually based all over the world, taking in matches throughout the season, that is what you need, to get the best young players, not just a handful of scouts you send out every so often!
We have got players on trial now who had trials with bournmouth, orient, etc and they deemed them not up to standard, why have we got them?? its like pancrate, he had a trial at sheff uts, and they said he wasnt good enough, yet we signed him up, its a shambles.

Joey Barton is key to our season. To me he is our best midfielder. He just can’t stay injured. I love how our players grow their mustache and beard until win, hopefully it won’t be long.

My Auntie Doris is Joey Barton’s cleaner and is forever cleaning out the lazy little shits razor for him. She is enjoying her rest at the moment, but has said she can get the moustache for me when he shaves it off. I might put it on Ebay.
