Leon Best May Have Ruptured Ankle Ligaments

News yesterday that Newcastle United striker Leon Best is almost certainly out of Monday night’s PL season-opener at Manchester United.

Leon Best – may have ruptured ankle ligaments

It seems the Newcastle United striker has suffered some kind of ankle injury during training on Tuesday.

There are reports that  Best may have ruptured his ankle ligaments, and if that’s true that would be a long term injury with the former Coventry striker facing three months on the sidelines.

Chris Hughton told the Shields Gazette yesterday.

“We’re still assessing that one,” “It was an ankle injury that he picked up in training.””At the moment, it looks like he won’t be available for Monday.”

Best has looked sharp in pre-season and has scored two good opportunist goals, but if he is indeed out for up to three months that will put extra pressure on the Newcastle manager.

And in that case it will certainly 19 year-old Nile Ranger will not be going anywhere on loan, as will be need at the Tyneside club.

We have to hope Leon’s injury is not ruptured ankle ligaments, and that he will be fit again in a lot less than three months.

He was looking good in pre-season.

Shame for Ranger that one, he would have got far more playing time somewhere else, hopefully for him he can make a move in January.

Does this also scuppour getting rid of Strola?

I see in the news today that Mancini has said he will not let Bellamy go to Tottenham and that we are linked to him (along with Mackems, Celtic, Fulham, Everton, Villa(no manager – doubt it))

Best did ok last season without scoring. So far he’s looked good in the pre-season and scored two goals.

It’s questionable if he’s good enough for the PL but I want him to suceed and be a success with Newcastle Unite this season…….

Hopefully ranger will now regain his rightful place in the pecking order.

He looked good in pre-season and it is sad he got injured, cause IMO he and Lovenkrands should have started at ManUre.
