News today that Newcastle United are after Slovakian International and Manchester City left winger Vladimir Weiss for a season long loan deal.
Vladimir Weiss – loan target for the season
And reports in Manchester today suggested that Newcastle are keen on bringing the youngster to St James’ Park.
But Newcastle will have some competition for the player, with Stuttgart manager Fredi Bobic already hoping they have pipped Newcastle to get the player on loan for the season.
Bobic said today:
“Vladimir will gladly come to us”
Newcastle have been rumored to be after this player even before the World Cup started, so it’s hardly a surprise they may be interested in the player now.
And his agent during the world cup said that Vladimir would be delighted to join the Newcastle club on loan.
And Glasgow Celtic are also said to be interested in Weiss, and Bolton manager Owen Coyle seemingly willing to take any good young player he can get at Bolton for next season, to help with their relegation fight.
Of course Vladimir made 13 appearances for the Trotters last season on loan.
So we have to hope that Newcastle are still in with a good chance of getting this player, because he’s a budding star, and would certainly help the Newcastle cause this coming season.
The Slovakian stands 5’8″ tall and has already played 13 times for his country.

Comment #6yes magpietillidie22, i agree. its always the same.
I blame selling clubs being greedy.
L’om are the clearest example of this. I hope no one buys arfa, then he will quit football (as is his right) then come back next year (as he can i believe) and L’om well get NOTHING for him. serve them right.
I would like to see wiess at the toon, he’s a decent player and we need recognized wingers. Monday nights service from wide was bollox.

Comment #9Vladimir Weiss & Hatem Ben Arfa are 2 talented players and are defenetly better then we already have at NUFC but I’m afraid that none of them will be signing for NUFC ………..
WE NEED ACTION FROM NUFC NOT ONLY TALKING
This is one of the worst transfer windows for NUFC.We signed Gosling injuried,Campbell unfit 35yo and Perch champion ship levell ………..
We have much less talented squad to the one we had when we was relagated so the answer is that other teams made improvements and we …………

Comment #10I am begining to think no one is coming in, unless they do not cost the club next to nothing. Its going to be a hard season. we need control when we go forward didn’t see much on monday. Carrol will need help didn’t see much of that either.

Comment #11Couldn’t agree more mates. I am done trusting CH and Ashley. I will support the players through thick and thin, but I no longer have faith in our leadership. This transfer window is truly becoming a joke.
I hope Gosling is the real deal come January, as we will need him badly by then.

Comment #12I hope we pay Man City, Manure and Chelsea a visit, they must be over their 25 man squad quota and have players who are not going to feature, meaning they would be willing to loan them out.

Comment #13Bloody this player bloody that player, we wont be getting this lad, Ben Arfa or anyone as we are too bloody slow trying to tie up deals because the amount of money we are offering. thanks to Cashley we start low and then haggle for 3 weeks be it price or wages and by that time another team comes in and it is all over. This transfer window is going to do this club back to the Elec and Gas League.

We know a crook when we see one.
How the f**k just by pure logic do you expect a addicted gambler and a Casino manager to run our club successfully.
You must be out of your mind to even think that these Laurel % Hardy are the real men for our great club.

Comment #20I was quite optomistic at the start of last week over potential signings, but now were being linked with more loan deals like this one i’m starting to think most of this is media hype, and as always were gonna end up with more cheap dross in to go with what we already have, like hughton has said so many times, “right players, right prices” basically if there free we have a chance of getting them, if not don’t hold your breath! No actions to back up words so far and sadly no sign of this changing, as much as we all hope it will!Remember all the transfer windows prior to this, and how we all sit there hoping for at least some shred of decent action, and how dissapointed we are come midnight when nothings happened? All signs are there i.e ben arfa just like modric, arshavin, etc that this will be the same lads!

Comment #21My feelings now Toon XI. We need Weiss asap but Ben Arfa now seems on his way to Europe somewhere. I think he used NUFC to get a move away from Marseille to Italy etc. Began to trust CH but am feeling he is just a toady for Ashley all along.

Comment #23its puzzles me why we should except a relegation dog fight, why we should except no decent signings, when mike Ashley purchased the club he did it of his own free will I can’t remember anyone with a gun at his head. so with his ownership comes responsibility, responsibility to provide sensible transfer funds, to move the club forwards, and I am not talking 100’s of millions, but surly 10-15 million on good young players, players that will move us forward, 8,388 unsold seats against villa 15,000 unsold season tickets, this is because people are so sickened by recent events, like the no transfer fund, then Hughton claims he does have money, we have purchased perch for an undisclosed fee, I am not going to slag perch off, but what I will say is signings like this will not sell tickets, 99% of fans have got excited about Hatem Ben Arfa. this is the signing we needed to get the fans excited, we don’t really know what’s been going on over this, but if Ashley looses out on this, just like we did with Beckford, we will get a reputation for sticking to our guns, and being no one’s fool, but it will cost us more in the long run as we will lose many a good player and be left with the scraps, the perch’s and the best’s. we have to get the balance right, this was exactly the supposed players we were to get, good young hungry players with a sell on value. the way we are going about it at the moment we are taking too many chances, yes we have the basis of a good squad, but we need someone who can fill the empty seat, a signing that will pay for its self, empty seats are a loss we can’t get back, they are a waste, we need a player that will do the un expected, what do we have now, it’s already been worked out that if you stop crosses you snuff out carol, and we don’t have anyone to change things, we are totally predictable. when the wife does the shopping I moaned about her buying Pepsi max at £1.50 when she could get smart price for 30p a bottle, she gave a good answer that the kids would not drink smart price cola so it would be wasting money, and I can see the same thing with the clubs purchases, we are buying players that are not good enough, and will not have a sell on value, so we are doing the exact opposite to what Ashley claims he wants. it’s a case of speculate to accumulate, or continue with mike Ashley’s Russian roulette.

Comment #26I love the comment in the papers this morning about newcastle “fearing” the deal for ben arfa has been “scuppered” by ac milan! Do they not know that Ashley is as tight as a ducks arse? There will be no fear, He’ll just be pleased he’s saved 800k and wages on top of that. He’ll be eyeing up a replacement in the form of some bench warmer at notts forest on a free on £800 a week.

Comment #30ok. so, who are we after now?
Arfa (French, Tunisian)
Weiss (Slovakian)
Leroy Fer (Dutch)
Rafik Halliche (Algerian)
Victor Anichebe (Nigerian)
Arévalo Ríos (Uruguayan)
Jason Roberts (English)
Jean-Eudes Maurice (Franco-Haitian)
Billy Knott (probably English)
Mevlut Erding (Turkish)
Kevin Prince Boateng (Ghanaian, German)
Deniz Yilmaz (Turkish-German)
Yannick Djalo (Guinea-Bissauan, Portuguese)
Now, what from this is true? we know only that Arfa is serious, but now with AC Milan and other clubs, we don’t know if we have any chance.
The rest of these players?
well, no real news.
Who did we really get this window?
Sol Campbell
James Perch
Dan Gosling (Injured)
All British players.
I am not saying its a system, but it looks like not british players don’t really want to come to newcastle this year. Or maybe the club doesn’t know how to aproach them right, or don’t want non-british players (?!)

Comment #31I now have my doubts about signing anyone I fear it’s just pretending to go after these players to make it look like we are trying the facts are we have about 15,000 unsold season tickets we still have 8,388 tickets for the villa game unsold & 11,339 unsold for the Blackpool game, this is why Hughton made a claim he had money to spend even though it’s clear that he does not, it seems our owner is trusting luck to keep us safe, when a few good signings could have got us mid table

Comment #33OMG Facts:
Sunderland so far signed better players than US
Our signing so FAR are either championship quality, OLD and injured (Perch, Campbell and Gosling)
Our first match show we need depth in our squad as our bench consist too much youngster
Carroll are good in the air. Too bad our wingers (Jonas and Routledge dont provide that enough cross)
Conclusion: our current squad we are still “relegation battlers”

Comment #35JimmyBob be careful what you wish for!!
Chris is dealing with the harsh realities of managing a cash strapped and recently promoted NUFC. He is actually doing what is best for the team and is putting aside his own ego and pride to ensure the best for the club.
Would you honestly rather he get stroppy, refuse to train or talk to the media unless he got a new contract amd 20 mill in the war chest??? Cause mate then we would not have a manager and we’d back where we were last season. Dope. I cant believe you want to get back on the merry go round and your reason is it must be hurting Chris pride to put up with it. When you have a family you will realise that sometimes you need to sacrifice your pride for the sake of those you love.
