Vladimir Weiss Completes Loan Move To Rangers

As we had suggested yesterday, Manchester City and Slovakian International winger Vladimir Weiss has joined Rangers on a season-long loan deal.

Vladimir Weiss – completes season long loan deal to Rangers

The Slovakian, who was also wanted by fellow Glasgow club Celtic, completed the switch earlier today in Glasgow, after undergoing a medical at Ibrox.

Weiss, who is just 20 years old, will likely make his debut for Rangers in their Sunday SPL match with Hibernian at Easter Road.

It’s a pity that Newcastle couldn’t have captured this winger, as he provides the spark and the class the Newcastle squad desperately needs for the coming season. Vladimir was just one of the players rumored to be a loan target at Newcastle this summer.

And it looks like Newcastle reported top loan targets this summer of Jack Wilshere, Tom Cleverely and Vladimir Weiss will not be arriving on Tyneside, as Wilshere  and Cleverley have been so impressive in pre-season they are staying at their parent clubs for the season.

However, we still expect two loan moves to be completed within the next 11 days by Newcastle, and don’t be surprised if we still get Ben Arfa on Tyneside.

We certainly hope we can get Ben Arfa to Newcastle for the coming season.

Comments welcome.

I get the feeling we didnt have a chance on this, I think Man City are only wanting to loan or sell to teams that are outside of the premier league, hence Bellamy to Cardiff and Weiss to Rangers. BTW its my first on here, read for years now but decided to sign up to give my opinions so Hi everyone!

To be fair Ed, this isn’t NUFC news it’s rangers news. At no point did anyone at the club suggest we were even looking at him. It was just speculation.

Man City have come out and said they dont want their players going to their rivals, hence why Bellamy’s options where Celtic and Cardiff.

Actually i think it’s OM that have looked the fool in this. They’ve been conducting their business in the open whilst not honouring an agree they came to with the player and his lawyer.

Lets hope tht it gets sorted one way or the other soon 🙂

    Reading this article on skysports:

    http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_6324689,00.html

I cant blame us for not wanting the deal, OM are saying as part of the loan that we MUST buy HBA if we remain in the premiership next season.

Why would we agree to that, the lad might be a complete flop, but we would still have to shell out £4.5-£6.5m for him? I dont think so!

If OM are gonna want terms like that, walk away, he aint worth it.

Not realy bad terms Rich, we still don’t have to pay anything for a year and 5-6 mill for a player of Arfa’s quality is a steal. We can hardly be picky to be honest when we’re this starved of quality in attacking options

Sure, the deal in itself is brilliant for us, but with the lads’ temprament, having the clause in there saying we HAVE TO buy him at the end of the year is not brilliant really, I wouldnt be keen on it myself.

    Well its simple…

We agreed a loan, paying OM 800k for the privilege PLUS adding a buying option of 5.5m if we wanted to keep him.

OM agreed then after he was called up for france, pulled the plug. Now they are saying they will do the same deal but want a DEFINITE purchase if we dont get relegated. So even if he falls out with toon, runs away, shoots CH or whatever we’d have to pay OM 5.5m.

OM r ridiculous and look more and more like fools. If anything this shows how we are at least conducting our business ruthlessly. Which also has its pros and cons

Yeah but Danny Simpson’s out till November ain’t he?? So getting rid of Taylor at this moment in time wouldn’t make a lot of sense.

I’ll tell you what though if he’s being paid 42k a week I will literally go on a rampage of fury

Can you blame OM for wanting that in the clause. They are lending us Ben Arfa when they could/ are trying to sell him for £6m.If we rate him that highly then why not agree. If he is as good as they say then we will benefit if we sell him at a later date. What this tells me by not agreeing is the bloke isn’t that good in the first place.

Ryan Taylor ain’t good enough to be a Premier League right back. He’s a mediocre right mifielder. We do need to strengthen but in my opinion w winger/attacking midfielder and a ‘good’, premier league proven centre-forward would be a priority. We scored plenty last year, in the Championship. Bugger all the year before.

This Villa match should be a real test, and an early sniff of how we might fare this season.

I was expecting 3 nowt against manure, I think we all did really. That was my gut feeling.

My gut feeling pre-season was 13th. I’m not so sure now. Roll on Sunday!!!!!

    TOON TOON!!!

No i dont agree, its not that hes not good enough its that his attitude is questionable.

If he comes over and is a model pro then there will be no problem taking him but what if we get him and he causes nothing but trouble? Newcastle are being sensible imo and i cant see your point at all

If the reason Arfa does not come is because OM have said yes, you can loan him for a year but at the end of the year you HAVE TO BUY him, no matter what. Then I am happy with that.

Ok you lend me something worth £6mill. I will use it for a season,if I like it and it behaves I will pay you.If not you can have it back.Wouldn’t that be taking the piss.Because I should have done my homework in the first place and if I believed it was worth it originally, then I would accept them terms.I for one can’t blame OM for looking out for their intrests in what is their player. If it was one of our players going the opposite way what would you think of the deal then.If we go down theres no problem, and I’m sure Ben Arfa will have a clause to say if that happens then he is off.
