Andy Carroll Contract Under Wraps Because Of Agents’ Dispute

News today that Andy Carroll is signing a lucrative new four-year contract with Newcastle United.

Andy Carroll – new deal worth £25K a week

The England U21 International has had two excellent games at the start of the season, and bagged a great hat-trick against Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon, when he was just too good for the Villa defense to handle.

The Newcastle club have got Andy to commit his long-term future to his home town club, but the Daily Mirror is reporting the deal is not being announced officially yet, because of a behind-the-scenes dispute between two agents.

Carroll recently changed his representative – and there are likely to be potential claims from the two different agents – with the Premier League possibly being called in to arbitrate the situation.

Newcastle are delighted that Carroll is tied up until until the summer of 2013, and the 6’5″ striker is now picking up wages somewhat in line with top-level players at the club,  at around £25K a week, which he has certainly earned.

And we think Andy will get even better,  if he keeps his head down and listens to what the Newcastle coaches tell him.  He’s done that over the last 12 months or so – and the improvement in his game has been dramatic, to say the least.

Keep it up Andy.

    Very clever by us.

In 4 years he could, and probably will, be one of the 3 or 4 best strikers in England and he could potentially still be on £25 K per week

If he can keep his foot on the ground I think no reason he can get higher wage than 25k.

Carroll is lucky boy, he has many good experience players around him to help and advice what should to do. How you get bad if you have Smith, Nolan, Barton, Harper, Hughton or even Shearer to help you. He can learn from their past life mistake like Barton case, injurie problem from Smith and Shearer and professional way from Harper and Nolan.

I don’t get this, I thought Carroll had already signed a new contract along with Tim Krul or am I missing something? is this yet another new contract or the same one not yet signed???

Also, how come we’re only offering Carroll £25k a week & reports are suggesting that we’re offering S. Taylor a £45k a week contract to keep him at the club, I don’t understand!!!!

On the subject of Ben Arfa going to Cessepool, how will they be able to afford his £80k a week wage demand when they’re £400m in debt & the bank is looking at foreclosing on them in Oct if they don’t get brought out this month???

I think that story is complete bullocks!!!!

Solaidback .. yep agreed .. only worry is not transfer fee .. and they need a winger ..I was looking through the agents quotes and I don’t think he’s said the club arfa has agreed with in England is not Newcastle.

My only worry on this is if Werder are getting him .. should see something today…

Solaidback .. agreed was Carroll not already signed up .. also 25K a week is good business .. if he keeps up his alround play I can see that doubling in a year or 2 ..

£25k is an insult to the lad if Tayls is on £45k. Alex Ferguson and others must be rubbing hands in glee in anticipation of a swoop. It’s not going to be difficult bettering that, is it?

Ashley, once a cut price barrow boy always a cut price barrow boy.

Rule 1 – properly value what you have got or you will soon lose it…

Captain Beefheart .. yep but the lad needs consistency .. this season will hopefully prove all doubters wrong .. so far this season one of our star players ..
As for taylors 45k … think thats alot for him seeing as williamson is on less than half that and is looking as good .. if not better..

I bet he has increments in there, so he will start at £25k but it will increase each year, then bonus’s too.

carroll’s potentially a great player, however claiming capello is a ‘jackass’, as the sun called him today, due to him not picking him for the england squad after one hat-trick is insane.

chrisf30 .. a jack*ss .. I like his style .. but hopefully he’s not getting too cocky .. he’s still got some way to go to be better than crouch .. consistently and not letting it go to his head, then he can be the next drunken duncan and be an automatic for england.

I see we are today linked with:

    Burnley Winger Chris Eagles (24).
    Plays on the Right Wing.
    187 Apps. 20Goals (All Clubs)

    Hull Defender Kamil Zayatte (25).
    Can play CB and DM.
We already trialled him so we know about him:

our defence is fine now, i think we need to think of our attacking options, comes down to the same issue…creativity, we need a player who can create something out of nothing

I also see that Sunderland are hoping to land Portsmouth forward John Utaka in a bargain £1million deal.

He wouldnt be too bad for us really.
    367 Apps. 101 Goals.
Only down side is his age (28).

I dont think we are after Zayatte – he is not a great player and no better than what we have in his positions. We are linked with him in every transfer window since he was here on trial so take it as a pinch of salt
Eagles – great wing cover but we need someone better than that to try and give us more consistent quality on both sides of our midfield
