Ben Arfa Has Choice Of Three Clubs – Is Newcastle One?

The Marseilles Sporting Director Jose Anigo has said that no deal has been agreed yet for their 23 year-old midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa.

Hatem Ben Arfa – no deal yet agreed?

The winger joined the French champions just two years ago from Lyon, but has famously fallen out with the club’s hierarchy and management, and is still desperately seeking a move way this summer.

Reports suggested that  Liverpool and Manchester United were two of the latest clubs to be chasing the boy, and the news was that Liverpool could go after the midfielder should Javier Mascherano make the move to Barcelona.

Newcastle have  been heavily linked with the 23-year-old, and he even moved to Newcastle for a weekend a couple of weeks ago to try to push his proposed loan deal through.

German club Werder Bremen have also been linked with the player,  but one of their officials said last week they were not interested in him,  so exactly where Ben Arfa will end up is still up for debate.

Anigo told the French Daily L’Equipe today:

“He has a choice between two or three clubs,” “But we also have to find an agreement with the club, which is not the case so far.”

We have no idea if one of those clubs is Newcastle, although the news recently is that the lad priced himself out of a move to Newcastle,  because of his exorbitant wage demands.

This saga will need to come to an end before next Tuesday we would assume,  so it’s still a mystery as to where this lad could end up – maybe at Newcastle – but that’s got to be a long shot right now.

undecided on S.Taylor, was talked of at 21 the same as Carroll is now… nand for whatever reason Taylor has never really developed from there.

still looks very undecided at crucial moments, and isn’t skillful or quick enough to be a RB.

if the right offer came it would be sad but i’d understand it.

BHA is a big no no.

Hope it is true; he is overrated. We have got enough quality to be played as CB; Collo – Williamson (who has already played 2 superb games) – Campell – Tevernier (looked promising in pre-season).

I hope we can get rid of him ASAP so we are still able to buy a few good players (or is it possible that Ashley keeps the money in his wallet).

What is the situation with Tiote?

Taylor’s a good lad and he works hard, but he knows the club’s limitations on wages at the moment.

If he’s asking for £60+ I would guess he probably wants out, as he must know he won’t get it.

Shame really, but I won’t be heartbroken if he goes. He’s not without his faults, but he’s a local lad and he’s well thought of by a lot of other clubs.

He does have a habit of handling in the area, but he does have some very good attributes. I just remember how happy it made me to see him shoving Ronaldo of the pitch by his throat a couple of years ago.

If he wants to leave, fair enough. With Sol in the team and Willo in such good form, you have to wonder where he’d fit in now. We have plenty of options for the CB positions (Colo, Willo, Solo, Kadaro, Percho (sorry) etc…). We should get relatively good money for him too. Might fund a creative mid or a small shifty striker.

That said, if he’s still here after the transfer window closes I’ll be happy enough. For a deffender, he has a good eye for the back of the net.

We would probably only get £2m or so upfront for Taylor by selling him now because he is injured and into the last year of his contract.

Players that are available include Mancienne, Mark Reynolds and Ashley Williams who could all come in and compete with Colo and Willo.

    What is wrong with .org?

I check the sites that write about my beloved NUFC, no matter where.

But I am careful not to believe everything.

Might be why we’ve been linked with Marc Wilson and Boyata with the club resigned to losing/selling Taylor.

Not too bothered about Taylor going to be honest he could be quite a liability with some of his tackling, and is now apparently getting a little bit mercenary so bye bye to him.

As for Arfa-crown aka HBA he also sounds a little mercenary if that is how much he is demanding so thanks but no thanks, let’s keep looking for players that understand that big paydays are a thing of the past (except at MCFC) and want to come to NUFC because they want to play football.

Ben Arfa to replace Mascherano at Liverpool makes no sense.

From what I’ve read, his wage demands are way too high for Newcastle if they permanently signed him (£80k a week). And Marseilles will only do a loan deal if Newcastle include a clause that if he plays a certain amount of games then a permanent deal automatically happens.
