Big Changes Expected For Saturday’s Game At Wolves

After making 11 changes from the side that played against Aston Villa on Sunday, for the game last night at Accrington Stanley, don’t be surprised if  the Newcastle manager makes 11 changes for the side to play Wolves on Saturday afternoon, in what promises to be a tough PL game at Molyneux.

Chris Hughton – different side for Wolves

Hughton’s big gamble of starting six teenagers last night, in a side that had an average age of around 21.5 years paid off handsomely, and Newcastle  got the win they needed to go into the 3rd round draw, to take place on Saturday. The seniors all got a rest, and the youngsters got some great experience in getting Newcastle through to the 3rd round of the Carling Cup.

Depending on which team Newcastle get in the next round, will decide what team Chris puts out, but if it’s a Premier League side he may play the seniors in the next round.

This is what Chris told the Shields Gazette today:

“I’m certain there will be team changes for the weekend!” “We got exactly what we wanted out of the game though, and, overall, we’re really happy with it, but Saturday is a different game again.”

“It was a tough night, and we could have made life more comfortable for ourselves, but that’s the nature of the cup,” “We were probably hanging on a bit at the end, but, overall, we’re pleased.”

It was a pleasing display from the youngsters last night, and we have to agree with Chris, that the young guns at Newcastle are improving, and certainly they showed the same fight and passion the senior players have showed so far this season.

It must be catching.

Comments welcome.

The team will be the one who turned out against Villa I imagine. Tiota won’t make the squad in time as I don’t imagine his work permit will have gone through soon enough, Campbell will still be working on his fitness but could maybe make the bench, and Benny Arthur probably won’t have signed (if he does at all).

Hello everyone, this is my first time on this site.
I reckon there won’t be a single player in the team on Saturday who played last night. Thought the only players who looked possible talents were Lua Lua, Ranger and Krul.
I love Harper but reckon Krul is a better prospect at the minute. Harps’ kicking was shocking against Villa and he was very lucky that Villa didnt capitalise on the penalty he gave away.
Would probably be happy with a draw at the weekend……

By the way when you want to say the f-word you must include 2 stars in place of letters for example, F**k because if you only block the ‘u’ out, Ed’s filter will delete it
