After making 11 changes from the side that played against Aston Villa on Sunday, for the game last night at Accrington Stanley, don’t be surprised if the Newcastle manager makes 11 changes for the side to play Wolves on Saturday afternoon, in what promises to be a tough PL game at Molyneux.
Chris Hughton – different side for Wolves
Hughton’s big gamble of starting six teenagers last night, in a side that had an average age of around 21.5 years paid off handsomely, and Newcastle got the win they needed to go into the 3rd round draw, to take place on Saturday. The seniors all got a rest, and the youngsters got some great experience in getting Newcastle through to the 3rd round of the Carling Cup.
Depending on which team Newcastle get in the next round, will decide what team Chris puts out, but if it’s a Premier League side he may play the seniors in the next round.
This is what Chris told the Shields Gazette today:
“I’m certain there will be team changes for the weekend!” “We got exactly what we wanted out of the game though, and, overall, we’re really happy with it, but Saturday is a different game again.”
“It was a tough night, and we could have made life more comfortable for ourselves, but that’s the nature of the cup,” “We were probably hanging on a bit at the end, but, overall, we’re pleased.”
It was a pleasing display from the youngsters last night, and we have to agree with Chris, that the young guns at Newcastle are improving, and certainly they showed the same fight and passion the senior players have showed so far this season.
It must be catching.
Comments welcome.

Comment #81In terms of transfer in before the window shuts, I think it’s only fair to assume two things.
1. NUFC have and continue to actively seek HBA
2. CH has admitted he wants to take at least one from Man City’s rejects.
He has said publically that he wanted “2 or 3” more signings.
1. HBA
2. Etuhu?
3. ???

Comment #85The leaders meeting in Monaco, the biggest European clubs during the draw for the first phase of the Champions League did not allow Hatem Ben Arfa to bring Werder Bremen. In front of the cameras I> Tele, the president of Olympique de Marseille Jean-Claude Dassier said that the midfielder is “closer to Newcastle than Werder Bremen. Earlier in the day, Dassier confirmed in Provence an offer for Ben Arfa English: “They propose to exercise the option to purchase if Hatem plays 25 games and pay 5% of FIFA. We will respond . Then, Hatem to agree with them. It must be done with it as quickly as possible with all this history. “

I reported this about 2 hours i go
I speak french and according to the latest articles ( see post 82 ) he should be here tommorow morning !!
@Edd Case
Its because french and english are two diffrent languages they are things the french say that we dont for example in english we say
I get up
in french they say i get myself up ( je me leve)
so naturally when we translate it word for word it wont work
I speak french and i can always help with translating the jist ( i am better at italian)
Anyway back to the football ( sorry if it was a french lesson) According to the french press ( and it is the french press ! ) king arfa should be here tommorow to conclude things !! so look out !

Totally agree on you on the issue of people dropping Nolan out of their fictive lineups.. He has been a bargain for us. A true Premier League quality player.
