It seems that 23 year-old midfielder Danny Guthrie and 24 year-old Spanish striker Xisco, remain sidelined because of their respective knee and groin injuries for tomorrow’s game at Wolverhampton.
Xisco – sidelined by groin injury
This is what Newcastle manager said today about the injury situation:
“Danny’s definitely out, as is Xisco, who missed the midweek game,” “He’ll miss tomorrow as well, but that’s it.”
“Sol Campbell won’t be involved, but we’re very much looking forward to him being available for the Blackpool game.”
“It’s our choice. Where we are at this particular moment, his training programme’s been geared to making sure he’s fully up to speed, and he will be by the Blackpool game.”
Meanwhile, Hughton is very aware of Wolverhampton Wanderers having made a good start to the season, after surviving well last season in the Premier League, after being promoted as Coca Cola Championship winners last summer.
Former Sunderland and Ireland manager Mick McCarthy has certainly done a fine job at the club since joining the Staffordshire club, in July of 2006.
Chris Hughton talked about the game:
“It’s a very tough game,” “They’re in good form at the moment. They’re a great example to the likes of ourselves.”
“You speak about the work ethic they have, but they’ve also got a side full of quality.”
Newcastle will do well to get some points from their visit to Molyneux, and we’d be quite happy with a point tomorrow afternoon.
Comments welcome.

Comment #1I am going to work but before I go, I see N’Zogbia is off to Birmingham after they agree a fee with Wigan.
He’s really gone far since he left Toon…
So hope we get HBA in today and if reports are right, he’s cost us less than Birmingham have paid for Zog?!

Comment #2When you put it like that Edd, HBA seems like even more of a steal! Never rated zog, typical ‘high potential’ player who only ever shows glimpses..which i think is him having a lucky day every now and then..

Comment #3This is my first post on this blog, so hello to all the fans!
Could R.Taylor challenge for a first team place tommorow? He was fantastic on Tuesday! As for Krul, I don’t think he is ready yet for Prem. Football. At least not in the ‘delicate’ first 5-10 games which will determine what are we targeting for realistically.

Comment #5It’s reportedly a £10 million pound fee for young Charles.
Personally, I think that’s completely barmy.
HBA is costing us £800k loan fee + wages of £1.5million + £5million IF he signs permenantly.
I make that £7.3million
Not sure what the 5% Dassier was talking about is, but if it’s 5% of £7.3million, that’s what, £365k
Total of just short of £7.7 million…
Even if it’s more, it’ll be definitely less than £10million…
Win win win for Toon.

I meant i don’t think he will be flying over to blighty again for nothing, if he is coming it is with a view to signing and all i’m saying i really hope it is for us. Sorry if that wasn’t all too clear!

Comment #16Old ‘Arry is a sly one, saying he isn’t after anyone and happy with his lot with one breath, and with the next trying to get a couple through the door. If so, then this could pave Keane’s exit out the door from spuds straight to st james’

Comment #17Dont think he’ll sign today but i have a feeling they are just doing a Tiote photo sesh from nufc.co.uk
i think he will be unveiled on monday because signings are never unveiled on away match days and sunday never brings many unveilings so monday is the day hopefully 😀

Comment #18There’s all sorts of rumours FLYING round the hotel I work in that Keane has been in the North East for a medical and to discuss terms because Tottenham are convinced they can now sign Ashley Young after Villa crashed out of Europe.

…and Monday’s a Bank Holiday, so Tuesday I guess, ha ha.
‘Arry is fly one, and movement in the transfer market (like a house sale chaon) depends on one big buyer and big seller clicking and that frees up another 10 deals down the line. Man City have distorted the market this year, and everyone is expecting them to make assets available – and now ‘Arry’s in Europe’s group stages, he’s buying be in no doubt!

Comment #24I think HBA and possibly Keane will arrive soon though – Monday at the latest and then we will probably do some loans out loans in on transfer deadline day
Is there a window extension for loans this season?
