Ben Arfa Deal Very Close At Newcastle

There are news sources that are reporting tonight that the deal to bring Ben Arfa on loan to Newcastle is almost a done deal.

Ben Arfa – done deal at Newcastle?

The French champions Marseilles, late on Friday, have admitted they were close to agreeing a deal to sell their unsettled midfielder, 23 year-old  Hatem Ben Arfa, to Newcastle United.

Marseilles President Jean-Claude Dassier, who seems to have been reporting on the deal every couple of days over the last few weeks, has  said he expects an agreement to be reached quickly:

“I think that we could quickly see Hatem in a Newcastle shirt.” “All of his team are even in England at the moment,”

Dassier also confirmed that Ben Arfa’s representatives are currently in England, trying to negotiate the deal with the famous Newcastle United club.

We had thought Ben Arfa’s wage demands may have been a stumbling block for the club, but the Evening Chronicle reported this morning the player’s representatives had reduced their demands, and presumably Newcastle can now meet those reduced wages. Hope so.

Nothing is official until reported on the Newcastle United web-site – but this latest news is still positive – and indeed it  would be tremendous if  the deal gets done, and next up has to be Robbie Keane. 😀

Comments welcome.

Great Great player! IMO on the same level as Benzema, Nasri, Menez. All of them the new era of French internationals. But one reservation is his attitude. I hope the calm sweet-tempered CH will get 100% of this guy. Our wings with the Spiderman, Routhledge and now Arfa is SICK!

L’equipe have followed on the story from the marseille website saying its basically only down to the player to agree terms. and if ive read correctly they says weve said to them they wont be a problem in agreeing terms with him

what I was thinking about this transfer and the 25 game auto transfer, could we not do the same for Houghton once he reaches a certain points total (40) and safety he should get another improved 12 month contract, this would then be improved once he reaches the next target, I am sure he will not do a runner, not when he is doing such a good job, and this would be a good motivator. I’m sure Chris & Colin could be with us a fair while, one thing that we should do is keep our feet on the ground and not build them up to quickly as someone will then shoot them down, we can show our gratitude for them, but not put any pressure on them, it’s easy to show gratitude without trying to turn them into the next messieurs. also if all this works out with the signings i for one say mike Ashley’s paid his debt in full, and we should all get behind him and see if we can cause a shock this year, and as for these billboards at st James park, Ashley gets his money from sports direct, we are subsidised by Mike Ashley, so our fortunes are linked, if you don’t like the idea inform us how else we can get to weir we want to be, if making mike Ashley money that ok by me, I would sell my soul to the devil to make my club successful, some might say Mike Ashley’s down that road, but who cares after the wife & kids Nufc’s the most important thing I have.

dave that would be similar to the way guardiola does it at barcelona he says he likes signing 12 month contracts cos it gives him a target to reach he want to improve each year so its a challenge to get a new contract, it would workn as a great motivator yess and would also stop massive compensation payouts when managers quit for other clubs maybe this should be introduced over here

“All of his team are even in England at the moment…”

Grief, if I want a pay rise I have to tough it out mesel’. No team for me, even the bloody union rep has gone soft on the boss’s daughter like in the Heineken ad, expect she doesn’t look like that as you can imagine (looks more like the boss in the ad tbh).

A week after their first date he accepted on our behalf a derisory offer ‘not to reduce our wages in line with turnover without further consultation’ by way of a settlement.

What the hell was I talking about again…?

Craigcoozy has promised to let us have more when he finishes at 10pm.

    Keep the Faith 😀

I am convinced he has signed for us and no I have not insider knowledge just a gut feeling that has never wavered the whole time it has been said that the move is on / off.
