Newcastle face a tough game at Molyneux tomorrow afternoon, against a club who have made a good start to the season, and are currently unbeaten.
With two different Newcastle sides having won their last two games, it wouldn’t surprise us in the least if the team that started the game against Aston Villa last Sunday, the senior side if you like, takes the field tomorrow against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
All those players were rested during the midweek Carling Cup game at Accrington Stanley, although captain Kevin Nolan had to replace the injured Haris Vuckic in the last 3 minute of injury time – but Kevin wasn’t injured. 😀
Xisco and Danny Guthrie are not available through injury, and we assume Sol Campbell will not be in the squad either, so this is the side we expect Newcastle manager to start tomorrow in a 4-5-1 formation:
Harper
Perch Coloccini Williamson Enrique
Routledge Smith Barton Nolan (c) Gutierrez
Carroll
Subs: Krul Tavernier Kadar Taylor(R) Lovenkrands LuaLua Ameobi
The subs bench includes three of the youngsters who played very well on Wednesday night – James Tavernier (19), Tamas Kadar (20) and Kazenga LuaLua (20) – who was our Man of the Match.
Newcastle have made a good start to the season, after looking very second best against Manchester United in that very first game.
But one thing that made the Newcastle side very successful last season, is that they went into every game prepared, and were never over-confident and always respected the opposition.
That will also be true tomorrow, and it seems that Chris Hughton very much respects the great job Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has done at Molyneux, over these last four years.
If we were to be honest we think this is a game we can get points out of, and with the application the lads have shown in each of the first three games, there’s no reason we cannot do that.
Last Sunday afternoon, Newcastle seemed to take their chances well, but in the first 20 minutes Villa missed two golden opportunities to score, and Newcastle will need to be very solid in defense in those first 20 minutes tomorrow afternoon. No slip-ups, and the lads must start confidently, and not as tentative or nervous as last Sunday afternoon.
So while Newcastle had a fairly lucky start last week, the lads took advantage of it – to be sure. Newcastle racked up an amazing six goals, but quite honestly we’d be pleased enough with a draw tomorrow afternoon, although a win would be just great.
Come to think of it, a win tomorrow, and new signings Ben Arfa and Robbie Keane through the door before next Tuesday afternoon, and the club would be in very good shape indeed for the coming season.
Howay The Lads!!

Comment #65On a diffrent subject totally was watching clips and reading stats of arfa on you tube and wiki and I stumbled upon a clips of
Cristiano Ronaldo. Now i dont know what opinions people have of him but the lad is truly talented 42 goals in 49 games for united (as a winger!) and 33 goals in 35 games for a new club in a totally diffrent league !. I know when he left i was one of those people who said good riddance but i genuinely do think our league is poorer without him. In my opinion there hasnt been a player of his ability ( maybe henry ) in England for a longtime and England as a whole has to be kinder to players of that technical ability.
I know i have gone on a tangent but i had some coffee and king arfa is signing but i just thought i would get peoples opinions about a player like Ronaldo ?

Comment #67Thank god we have finally signed him. Just medical to go. As its on Marseille official site that he is a Newcastle player. I am being absolutely honest and 100% that we will be fighting to get a place in Europe. Maybe Uefa cup. Because our squad right now is just awesome. Ben Arfa and some other player like Ryan Boudebaz or something like that the algerian kid.

Comment #70cynicaltoonfan – ronaldo is definitely a class player, dont think he playes an a traditional winger but even for an out and out striker that scoring record is world class. the big problem in this country imo is people seem to enjoy watching people fail especially if they have been extremely successful before hand. this is my main problem about newspapers in this country. who build up footballers as if they are gods and then follow them around until they fail or do something wrong then take the morale high ground.

Comment #71im happy to stay in the league this season then build on it, if we do better then its a bonus. a key issue for almost all clubs these days is keeping your key players fit and injury free and i hope we can do this more than those around us.

Comment #72Whoever is stupid enough to think Ben Arfa will not sign well this makes it 100% that Liverpool will not sign him. They have signed Raul Meireles for $16.5 million. I think that is honestly too much for this guy.
