Andy Carroll So Close To Signing New Newcastle Contract

Andy Carroll is close to signing his new four year improved contract at Newcastle United.

Andy Carroll – close to signing new contract

Hughton talked before yesterday’s game at Wolves, and hopes to complete what has been a every good month for the Newcastle club,  by getting the new long-term contract for Andy Carroll finally signed.

Discussions are still ongoing with the club,  but Hughton believes they are now very close,  and the deal should be signed shortly.

Chris said yesterday:

“It’s something that is ongoing,” “He’s a player that we absolutely want to keep and hopefully it’s not too far away.”

“Andy has done well in the first couple of games but he will not get carried away with the hype.” “I have warned him that with any period of a high, there may be a low right round the corner.”

“He is very conscious of not getting carried away with the hype. We’re two games into the season and there’s a lot still left to do.”

Andy played with a slight ankle injury yesterday and added a 4th league goal to his total, and got Newcastle a decent point too, in a game the Magpies had every chance of winning.

But we didn’t,  so we’ll take the single point and hope we can get back to our winning ways against Blackpool,  in a couple of weeks time  at  St. James’ Park.

But that game will not be as easy as t looks on paper, as Blackpool were unlucky not the beat a decent Fulham side at Bloomfield Road yesterday, when the London side equalized in the 87th minute.

Manure can do one. There is no way on this earth Hughton would let him go. Why would Fergy want him with Berbatov and Rooney as well as Owen. Sheer bloody greed. The only way that would happen is that if Ashley pushed Carroll out.

Under CH, our team have achieve some great team spirit and improve from a game to another game. Now we all can dream for UEFA cup, or maybe some magic touch by Ch, we can surprise big four and other NUFC hater…

Not sure Arsenal would be interested at the moment considering they’ve just bought Chamackh as their big target man.

…well give him a decent bloody offer!! If Taylor has been offered £45k, then tie AC up with a 5 year incremental deal at the same rate. I’d rather have AC any day, which is why Wenger & Fergie have the scent. Don’t get all cheap now, we are lucky to get players like this (ie Pedro, Shearer….) once every 15 years. And yes, he is in their class.

and btw, Ed. The Blackpool game should be 3 nailed on points if we want to stay up.

If Wolves away is a ‘must not lose’. Then Blackpool, Wigan, Blackburn, Fulham, Mackems, Bolton, WBA, Everton, Wolves, Stoke & West Ham at home should provide 33 points towards the magic 45.

45 points? To stop up? No chance. It will be more like 36-37 to stop up!

Sure I read somewhere that he had already signed his new contract but it was being kept under wraps as there was some sort of dispute between his old and new agents re their cuts. Anyone else seen that?

Either way I canna see him going unless he is pushed oot the door.

    Captain @ 13

Cant believe we are discussing “staying up”. I’m quite realistic and I’ve always said we would not be in any danger with a little bit of team strengthening.

With the squad we now have we should be looking to top 8 at least and I’m not getting carried away!

Carroll will sign, he’s a Geordie and one of us, wearing the number 9 shirt too.

However, if he continues to play like he is, he will get the England call and his value will increase ten-fold.

If Chelsea, Man Utd, or even one of the big Italian or Spanish teams like the look of him, could we (or should we) refuse a massive financial package?

    I’m talking £30+ million though.

toonsy@14, aiming for 45 points plus keeps us out of the annoying ‘easy to slip back into the shite’ section of the table that we famously slipped back into in 2009. Any less, given the transfer expenditure, would be a poor return on our investment.

    @ Edd.

Yes we could and we should. He may be the next England striker. Why oh why should we sell him? Add up: Shearer for £15 on the one hand and Martins, Xisco, Kluivert, Luque, Rossi, Viduka.
Do I have to ask which one is best?

Edd if he continues the way he is going then he will be the subject of a lot of interest and in answer to your question could we or should we refuse the answer is yes as our need is greater than theirs and he is a geordie playing for his home club.

Edd Case, I agree about AC’s potential value both as a player and an asset which is why I’m shouting out for Ashley to make a generous offer of £45k increasing over 5 years.

Do we ever want to win anything, if so selling AC is not the way to do it. Wake up. We paid 100K pw for shitty micky, plus the fee, so £45k for AC is brilliant business.

We paid 100k pw for shitty micky because at the time he was an established England International. Don’t get carried away. Andy Carroll is still a nobody. Let him play his football and don’t get eager to overpay him. Look what happened to Steven Taylor and his brains when we got ahead of ourselves and overpayed his a$$.

Please sign a new contract and don’t be like Steven Taylor. Andy is all we have right now and is our future. Is going to be the new Shearer.
