Newcastle’s main goal before Tuesday afternoon at 5:00pm. when the transfer window closes, is to get Ireland skipper Robbie Keane to Newcastle on loan.
Rick van Wolfswinkel – Newcastle interested in Dutch striker?
But the Daily Mail late today, are reporting that Newcastle are planning a move for Dutch 21 year-old striker Ricky van Wolfswinkel.
The youngster is currently at Utrecht, and hit a terrific hat-trick last week against Glasgow Celtic, when they hammered the Scottish giants 4-0 at home.
Van Wolfswinkel recently made his senior international debut for Holland in a 1-1 draw against the Ukraine, and fits the profile of the type of player Newcastle owner Mike Ashley wants to bring to Newcastle – youngsters who are already good, but have not yet reached their full potential.
The player has scored 12 goals already this season and Dutch sources are claiming Newcastle have been closely monitoring the player recently, and are ready to bring him to Tyneside.
The player moved to Utrecht last year from Vitesse, and in 78 first class games so far, he’s scored 32 goals, not a bad start at all to his career.
Liverpool were recently linked with an £8M move for van Wolfswinkel, but that fee seems way too expensive for the Tyneside club, so it will be interesting to see if Newcastle can bring in more than Robbie Keane before Tuesday afternoon.
We’d be very happy at getting the 30 year-old Ireland captain to Newcastle by Tuesday, that’s for sure.

Comment #90This one makes no sense to me. At best he would be marginally better than Ranger. Why not just give Ranger the chance? The Keane deal makes a ton more sense. You get a proven commodity to play a role which is not currently filled at the club and it would allow Ranger to go out on loan for first team action.

Comment #97There is no way in this world that Andy Carroll is going to leave. I don’t care what team or where he is a a true Geordie and will never leave Newcastle. Its a privileged to get the #9 for this Newcastle United club and he will not leave the jersey after Carroll now wants to prove him self. He will become one of the best strikers in this world in a couple of years, wait and see.

I just hope the Fifa people who took a tour around St.James Park loved it. It would just be brilliant for Newcastle fans and the city. But, mostly for Andy Carroll who will be playing for Newcastle and England at the Fifa world cup 2018 at St.James Park!! Can that get any better?

Comment #111Hiya all… does anyone know if Nolan would ever be kept on the bench. I think he’s a great player to have with Carroll knocking down all the long balls, but I think this line-up would be better:
——————- Harper/Krul————–
—Perch/Raylor–Collo—Will—Bull—-
—————-Smith ——Tiote———-
–HBA————–Barton————-Spidey—
——————- Carroll——————-
HWTL!

You take one step at a time. First win the League with Newcastle then leave for 30 million to join Mourinho’s Real to win the Champions League

Comment #120Bloody hell you didnt half jump down Roe’s throat. If it is true so what? Liverpool have bid for Carroll, I’d take it as a compliment because MA wouldn’t let him go, CH wouldn’t either and AC won’t be leaving for many years in my opinion.
So what I take from that rumour is that we have a better striker than liverpool, so he is only going to carry on improving for the toon until he is the next Shearer.
