All The Latest Daft Transfer Rumors Concerning Newcastle

Newcastle United may have got all the players they are bringing in this summer, already at the club.

Chris Hughton – there may be some late developments

It seems there are some difficulties arising with the potential loan deal for Robbie Keane, and not the least of which is that it seems he doesn’t want to come to Newcastle.

And there was some doubts placed on strike target Ricky van Wolfswinkel of FC Utrecht, because Newcastle are unlikely to want to spend £8M on the 21 year-old.

There’s a chance Newcastle could get 19 year-old Greg Cunningham from the Eastlands club, as left-back cover for Jose Enrique, but no chance Newcastle will now get Roque Santa Cruz, who may even be on his way back to Blackburn Rovers on loan.

And the latest rumors concerning Robbie Keane is that Turkish club, Besiktas, have launched a surprise bid to sign the Tottenham Hotspur striker on loan,  but there’s no way Robbie will go to Turkey.

Of course there are also the latest daft rumors going on at Sky Sports, where they are asking for latest news from the fans – and of course they are getting the usual stuff – like – I was at the airport today and saw Cristiano Ronaldo – and it looks like he’s signing for us. Yeah right, that kind of stuff.

Two silly rumors involving Newcastle are that Emile Heskey has been seen at the Benton training ground and that former Newcastle midfielder Jermaine Jenas, of goldfish bowl fame, is on his way back to Newcastle from Spurs.

As we said they are daft rumors – let’s rephrase that – we hope they are daft rumors. 😀

Comments welcome.

O’Hara is supposed to be injured but then again we signed Gosling. Can’t see it though. Keane looks dead in the water. Cunningham perhaps. Can’t see us signing a striker now but talking about strange rumours that player spotted at the training ground the other day from .com who they thought was Ben Arfa but is wasn’t, well, I’ve read on here and on other sites it could be one of the french algerians mentioned at the time. Doubt it somehow just passing on the snippets from other posters, nothing concrete whatsoever.

Short Trousers, fair point about Carrol cover but is Heskey the man for the job? I would rather see Ameobi cover him, or Ranger, or change the system a bit so as when he’s not playing we play with pace up front in the form of Loven or Arfa. Hesky will be on big wages and is horribly overrated.

because if Carol get’s injured cant see any of the other 5 strikers scoring too many
maybe it’s Keane maybe someone else

I dont normally get much info on newcastle transfers, normally get to hear stuff on sunderlands deals, sunderland have agreed a deal for gyan, subject to a medical. And I have heard newcastle have made a move for eren derdiyok, his agent Struth Volker, has been on tyneside in the last couple of days and held talks, dont know what the outcome was, only know because sunderland were also interested, and sunderland baulked at his wage demands

patience lads, we’re doing far better that I hoped. Am I right in thinking the loan deadline is later than the full trannsfer deadline? Or perhaps that doesn’t apply to the premiership – only the championship. So we might get a second chance when the millionare teams have to dump players after the deadline?

we could do with a smaller pacey striker to play off carroll when he wins headers etc.

Tiki – Rumours Shola not happy on the bench. He still thinks he’s better than he actually is, he has had dozens of chances and done nothing with them.

Supermannumber9 – don’t think you can agree loans after the deadline in the premiership (incoming) outgoing to the championship and below is still possible i believe.

Dirty Harris is right, the loan deadline is later, but only for non-prem clubs iirc.

i think it’s because of the 25 man squad ruling coming into effect this season, as each team will have to name their 25 man squad after the window closes this afternoon

romelu lakaku is awesome, and is only 17 years old, would love him at the toon, but he would cost 15m, and real madrid are chasing him, shola in exchange maybe 🙂

Otherwise it would appear there will be dozens of premier league players who don’t make the 25 – all on huge wages all looking for a team at the same time (possibly including Keane) – this situation has not happened before and it could be chaos!

supermacnumber9 totally agree mate, i think thats what hughton is banking on, the likes of man city will have to move out alot of players on loan late in the day, it will be a frantic end to the window, i would take a left back, and a centre half on loan (if taylor leaves)

All quiet on the Robbie Keane front. Back at Tottenham but a peripheral figure. Time for another TDD move, surely? He has cost in the region of £70m so far in his much-travelled career.

from BBC a peripheral figure, sounds to me like he is not wanted at spurs 4 hours to go you never know!
