There were some concerns today, that Brighton and Hove Albion’s attempt to take 19 year-old Kazenga LuaLua on loan from Newcastle, had again become uncertain.
Kazenga LuaLua – while on loan at Brighton last seaosn
Apparently the Seagulls had expected LuaLua to travel south yesterday, ready to complete the move this morning, but the player, who was Newcastle’s Man of the Match against Accrington Stanley last Wednesday, was still in Newcastle this morning.
Brighton manager Poyet has been after LuaLua throughout the summer, after the excellent form of the player during 11 appearances for Albion towards the end of last season on loan.
Chris Hughton yesterday confirmed that LuaLua would be rejoining Albion until January, and Poyet had earlier said about LuaLua:
“Everybody knows what Kaz is capable of producing, from his successful spell with us last year.”
“We know what he brings, he will give us another attacking dimension with his pace.”
But all seems well this morning as Kazenga has told The Argus local paper down there, that the paperwork will be faxed to Newcastle’s training ground for him to sign before he travels south today.
LuaLua confirmed to The Argus this morning:
“I am coming down today.”
There seems to have been renewed doubts and frustration within the Seagulls club last night, about whether the deal would be completed, but hey, these things happen, and if Chris Hughton says it will happen, he’s a man of his word.
We have to think this is a good deal for all three parties.
Comments welcome.

Comment #1Not so sure this is a great move for him.
Low level of footballing and I think he’s very close to our first team, certainly as capable as Routledge from what I’ve seen.
Still, he’ll get games under his belt.

Part of me understands why Poyet has been so concerned.

Comment #19I dunno like, if its true that RK isnt keen on coming to newcastle then I don’t think we should get him. At the minute we have a squad of players that 100% want to play for the toon.
I don’t want RK to come in if isnt of the same mind like.

Comment #20If we were to sign a left-back & a striker we would actually have 3 pretty decent teams:
………………….Harper……………………………
R.Taylor…..Williamson…..Coloccini…..Enrique
Routledge….Nolan……..Tiote……….Ben Arfa
…………Carroll…………….?????????…………….
2nd Line-up:
………………………Krul……………………………….
Perch……S.Taylor……Campbell……?????????
Guthrie……Barton……Smith……..Jonas
…………..Ameobi……………..Lovenkrands
3rd Line-up:
……………………Soderberg…………………………
Simpson….Tavernier…….Kadar……Ferguson
Donaldson…..Gosling……Vuckic……Xisco
……………Ranger………………Best………………..
That’s three decent teams, not including Forster, LuaLua, Inman, Zamblera, Tozer etc. Things are starting to look pretty good!

Comment #25Just heard a rumour that JLloyd Samuel is on his way out of Bolton, as he is now 4th choice leftback behind Alonso, Robinson & Gardner. Would he be a good player to buy as back-up to Enrique?? I think he probably would, if we loan a young player such as Greg Cunningham we might have to guarantee them games!

Williamson at right back??? not a chance
Team against Blackpool I think will be
………………………..Harper
Perch…….Williamson….Colo……Enrique
Routledge…Smith……Barton…..Jonas
……………………..Nolan
…………………Carroll
Bench: Krul, Raylor, Campbell, Tiote, Ben Arfa, Lovenkrands, Ameobi
Tiote and Ben Arfa will prbs come on for debuts
And Newcastle wont sign anyone today I think

Comment #28it seems that we are still in for Keane so we must still be after a striker. and we still havent got a back up left back. so surely chris isnt 100% satisfied with business just yet.

Comment #31For once in I don`t remember how long I actually don`t mind if anyone else comes in or not. We have probably made the best signing of the summer in Benny and apart from Perch who`s got a way to go yet the players CH has got in are realy, realy good. Beginning of the season I had a gut feeling we weren`t going to be good enough for this league but now I realy think we can finish mid table, Bring on the Seasiders.

I think we now have a v.decent premier league side. I would be happy with anything from 14th – 17th but theres part of me that looks at our possible first team and thinks ‘hang on… if we look as good on the pitch as we do on paper we could finish top half’

Comment #33There are rumours circulating saying jenas is coming back to newcastle, cant see that one myself, i think we have enough central midfielders. And on our current squad, the only doubts I have, is about our ability to score goals when we are dominating games, we could do with an out and out goalscorer to play with carroll really, apart from that im happy with our squad, the only players I would make available for transfer if there was interest, are:- ameobi, xisco, best, and smith

Comment #34And also ben arfa apparently wont be available for the blackpool game, due to lack of match practice, they dont even think he will make the bench, tiote will be available, was hoping ben arfa would play 🙁
