England Easily Beat Bulgaria 4-0 With Defoe Hat-Trick

In their first competitive game since the World Cup, England easily defeated Bulgaria 4-0 at Wembley tonight,  with an excellent hat-trick from Spurs’ Jermaine Defoe.

Jermaine Defoe – great hat-trick for England tonight

England played as well as they did in the  World Cup Qualifiers, when they won nine of their 10 qualifying game, and they got off to a great start tonight in the European 2012 Championships, with a good win against Bulgaria.

And it was 11 wins on the trot at home for England, and they got off to the perfect start after just 3 minutes, when Ashley Cole set up Jermaine Defoe with some good work on the left wing, and Defoe put away the chance with expert ease.

It was only 1-0 at the break, but England were the better side and playing some decent football.

And Manchester City goalkeeper, Joe Hart showed why he is probably England’s goalkeeper for years to come, as he gave a competent performance in goal, and made three excellent saves for his country in this game, and kept a clean sheet.

In the second half on 54 minutes, Michael Dawson had to leave the field injured, and it looked like he may have badly damaged his knee, and  it may be an ACL (ligament) injury,  and if that’s so – he could be out for many many months.

We have to hope it’s not as bad as it looked, and Harry Redknapp would not have been too pleased at seeing one of his best players taken off  injured, and it’s a great pity for the Spurs defender.

Bolton’s Gary Chill replaced the Spurs defender, and gave a good account of himself in the England side, and should start at Switzerland next Tuesday night.

On  61 minuets minutes England went up 2-0, with another good finish from Defoe,  and then on 83 minutes Adam Johnson, after missing an earlier opportunity, hit his first International goal, with a good finish and yes – it was with his left foot.

And then on 86 minutes Jermaine Defoe made a great run through the middle and Wayne Rooney picked him out with a superb through ball and it was a hat-trick for Defoe.

Rooney had an excellent game for England tonight, and was involved in every goal, and seemed almost back to his best, as Fabio  Capello had said he looked like in training.

And it was a great hat-trick from the Spurs striker, and Jermaine took each of his chances very well indeed, and now has 15 International goals to his credit.

It was a good and certainly a confidence-boosting individual performance from Wayne Rooney, and a good come-back  for the England team, after the terrible disappointment of the World Cup, but they looked a good side tonight.

paying your second choice goal keeper 120 grand a week is nothing short of disgraceful. He should be someones first choice, spoiling players career/spoiling the game.

we all know Given only went because of the money, that isn’t going to change now anyway i believe Hart is a better all round keeper he seems to control his area much better than Given.

But as for man city they won’t be messing up players careers all they are doing is providing a false hope for those fans, if we could find out the account details for the last couple of years and what the running costs for man city are and then find out their income i think you would find a MASSIVE gap, and don’t forget they are just like any other club in britain they are going to have to run their club on a break even structure (the way they are atm i don’t fancy their chances!!)

easy england win against a crap opponent, we have an extremely easy group so i expect we’ll qualify without any problems – but its the same old players in the main, glen johnson is nowhere near world class, defoe got 3 goals last night but he’ll never score consistently at international level

best thing about england is that we dont have any players in the team to get injured, carroll should announce his international retirement now

Hate to say it, but how good is Ashley Cole?
With Milner on the left, he can move into central midfield when attacking providing 3 in there as Cole plays so far forward. Made the first goal and I have seen him get behind the back four countless amounts of times for Chelsea this year, whilst being the first back to defend. The little Twat.
