Ben Arfa – Superb Atmosphere With Newcastle Players

With the International break coming just after Ben Arfa signed on for a season long loan on Tyneside, he has had to wait a little bit to play his first game for his new club.

Ben Arfa – so keen to play for Newcastle

Ben Arfa has been pleased with life on Tyneside over the past couple of weeks, and he has been made to feel very much at home by the rest of the Newcastle squad.

Ben Arfa talked to the Evening Chronicle today:

“There is a superb atmosphere amongst these players and which I noticed straight away.” “There is a really, really good feeling within the group and the training center.”

“I have been impressed with a lot of the players – they have such great skill and technique.”  “I want to get out on the pitch as soon as possible and play for Newcastle.” “I’m dying to get out there and show what I can do.”

“I am desperate to get the shirt on for the first time and get out there in front of the supporters.”

He will almost certainly be on the bench on Saturday, and depending on how the game goes against Blackpool, is likely to get his first appearance for Newcastle.

It looks like the deal struck with Marseilles, is that when he has played 25 times for Newcastle, he signs permanently for the Magpies  for about a £5.5M fee.

We have to hope the lad plays well for the club, because his class and creativity seem exactly what the Newcastle team needs right now.

No doubt Chris will know exactly how many times he has played this season,  and we suppose if Newcastle decide not to sign him, he’ll play in now more than 24 games.

We hope he plays more than that.

Comments welcome.

Who, aside from Bassong do you think Ben Arfa could’ve talked to…

I hate to be cynical, and I do appreciate his comments, but I feel they’re perfectly gift wrapped for our supporters…Perhaps Robert/Ginola has had a word and said, get on the side of the supporters and you will flourish?

Either way, he is making an effort and making all the right noises…If he can do the same sort of talking with his feet he’ll be a legend (until a bigger club comes and poaches him the season after next).

Great words from the talanted little french lad, seems to have taken to the club and players already. Cant wait to see him getting on the pitch in the last 25-30 minutes against Blackpool. Can you imaging the noice from the crowed when hes getting on? 🙂

Does anyone know yet if he speaks English? Will be one of the best signings NUFC have made in the last 10 years. Normally I would always say wait until after 10-12 games before making judgement on the team and certain players. Even I (the most realistic person ever) have a good feeling about this season.
Everything about the club at the moment just feels right. Mybe MA is starting to change the opinions of the fans, me included, about himself.
CH is the real star. How he has conducted himself over the past 14 months has been nothing short of superb.

Yer not far wrong there Bryan, the rest of football could take a leaf out of hoots book on how to conduct yourself in public,
and his second book titled how to conduct business while under the microscope

Bobby … true, however, there is no doubt he is a creative attacking midfielder. Hope he performs like what modric had done for tottenham.

Nonetheless, I wonder if we will be able to afford his contract come end of loan deal. 50k per week now in his current club issit? Might be higher for his next contract with us. Lets hope he does a ginola on the field and onyewu during contract talks … haha …

Having watched video clips of Benny Arfa, he does get a lot of attention from the opposite teams players, meaning he’s always got at least 2 or 3 around him when he has the ball but unlike Ranoldo, he doesn’t fall over at the slihtest touch, he battles thru & 8/10 comes out the otherside with the ball, which I think is fantastic… I did worry that he’d be another French ‘fallover’ flop but not anymore… he’s quite strong in the run & he’ll either get the ball into the box or get us a free kick just outside because he isn’t gonna fall over, he’ll be flatterned by the opposition before hand.. lol

I’m itchin to watch Ben Arfa in the B&W on Saturday, HWTL…..
