Andy Carroll Back In Training – Fit For Blackpool

Andy Carroll is back on the training field at the club’s Benton training headquarters today.

Andy Carroll – back in training at Benton

And Newcastle manager Hughton will be hoping his England Under-21 star will not suffer from any setbacks before the visit of Blackpool on Saturday afternoon.

Hughton talked to the Evening Chronicle today about Andy:

“We’re hoping that Andy is OK, but he’s certainly back in the frame. He’s trained but now we hope there is no adverse reaction from him.”

Still not available for selection for this game are long term injured players Steven Taylor, Danny Guthrie, Dan Gosling and Leon Best, while Danny Guthrie is out for another couple of weeks.

And new boys Cheick Tiote, Hatem Ben Arfa and Sol Campbell are all available for selection but we fully expect Hughton to field the side he has started in every game this season in the league.

Chris continued:

“What’s good for us is that they’re all available.” “That’s the most important thing for me of course.”“They will be competing for places but I’m also conscious of the need of a bit of rhythm.” “They’re choices to make but tough ones.”

And the FA have confirmed that Xisco’s three-match ban will not start until the Everton game next weekend, so he is available for selection against Blackpool on Saturday.

We are very much looking forward to the game against Blackpool on Saturday and a win would be fantastic.

What exactly is wrong with Guthrie anyhoo?

Yeah cant see CH putting any of them on from the start but saying that he’s not really one to risk injury so I aint too sure about Carroll starting

i believe bigger lad will start. i also think that ch
might play 2 strikers up front. the great dane has
been in good form and he has to get some games. we played
2 up front most of the season last year because
championship sides didnt pose enough threat to us to
force us to play 5 midfielders. i dont think blackpool
will break our back 4 because they have played strong all season
except for man u. also our midfield has shown plenty
of teeth. 3-1 toon or maybe 3-0 toon….

    For Blackpool
    —rTaylor williamson collocini enrique
    –routledge barton nolan smith gutierez

Bench; Tiote,Benarfa, Campbell, Perch, Ameobi, Lovenkrands, krul

perch is currently not playing well at all and should be dropped.
rTaylor has put in great performances when called upon and deserves a start.

Smith has been solid so far and does not deserve to be dropped whatsoever. Although I’m guessing he will make way for Tiote at some point in the game.

Guttierez/Routledge are both yet to play their best stuff but still deserve to retain their positions, although its a toss of a coin who will come off for Ben Arfa.

Carroll should start but his injury worry may see lovenkrands or ameobi get a look in, unfortunately its more likely to be the latter of the two.

williamson/collocini should play 90 minutes despite Sol Campbell pushing for his debut. I imagine the only way Sol will get on is if there is an injury or if we are holding on by a goal late on.

there is no question that Harper will start in net despite Tim Krul being, in my opinion the far better keeper.

    My guess for blackpool game:
    Perch…. Willo…. Collo….. Enrique
    Rout…nolan…. smith…….. gutierez

I dont think Tiote to play.
He had been too little time at newcastle.
And a thing for sure, they wont charge a good and performing formation.
Arfa either would come around 70-80 mins or would play the whole match i guess
Cambell would come in the the first second period.
Lastly,Caroll for Loven around the 80mins.

I am glad Carroll is fully fit. We just can’t afford to go with out him. Basically our best player this season. Love the true Geordie legend.

CH will likely start with the same starting eleven unless he brings in Ryan Taylor for Perch. Not that Perch deserves to be dropped, but beleive in squad rotation.

Benny “King” Afer will play some part of the game against Blackpool; ditto Shola Amebio as he replaces Big Andy in the second half a scores again at SJP.

Hoping Nile Ranger gets a part of the game as he’s the one for the future……
