Jonas Gutierrez has been getting over the disappointment of losing to Blackpool, but like the other Newcastle players this week, they want to take some positives out of that game.
Jonas Gutierrez – takes positives out of bad defeat
Jonas talked to the Evening Chronicle this afternoon about last Saturday:
“We were disappointed. We created chances to score, but we have to think about Everton – that is the most important thing.” “Aston Villa was a game that was not real – you are not going to score six goals all the time.”
“Blackpool and Manchester United are the real games – they are tough.” “It’s going to be another hard game.” “Everton’s last game – the 3-3 against Manchester United – was very good for their confidence.”
“They’re in front of their fans, and they’re going to be very good, but we can’t think about that, only what we can do.” “We have to try and keep the ball, and not make mistakes. We have to open the game to create chances.”
“All the games are different. We want to bring something back. If we can get a point, good, but three points is better.” “Newcastle are a big team – we never go somewhere just to get a draw.”
“A lot of things can happen in the game.” “We have to think about what positions they have problems in, and be strong in those positions.” “They have very good players, but we have good players as well.”
It’s probably a good time to meet Everton, because just like last season they have made a poor start to the season, with just 2 points from their first four games.
And of course top Everton youngster Jack Rodwell has been sidelined for up to three months, with the 19 year-old picking up an ankle ligament injury in the 1-0 loss at Aston Villa earlier this season.
But they are always a difficult side to play, home or away, and there’s no doubt this game will be a good test for the Newcastle side.
