Nolan Pleased With Competition For Places On Tyneside

Kevin Nolan didn’t have a particularly good game last Saturday and was guilty of missing one golden opportunity to score when he through one on one with the goalkeeper – but Gilks saves it – again.

Kevin Nolan – competition for places is great!

But Kevin is a leader at Newcastle, and he came on Newcastle TV after that game, and said two things – that they were terribly disappointed they messed up – and he vowed the Newcastle players would pout things right again – soon.

You cannot accuse Kevin Nolan, who returns to his place of birth tomorrow – that he is not brutally honest about things.

And Kevin is pleased that the Newcastle squad is now a lot stronger than they were, and that competition for paces has heated up big time at the club.

This is what Kevin told the Evening Chronicle today:

“It’s great. Last week we had 11 versus 11, and we could have put the reserves out.” “It’s really good. That’s what you want – people breathing down your neck.”

“It’s going to give Chris tough decisions, but he’s a strong enough man to make those decisions.” “He’s brought them in, and those are the kind of decisions he wanted.”

“Hopefully, we’ll get the best out of them in the coming months.” “There are a few lads who were disappointed, as they didn’t get on, it’s been an interesting week.” “We’ve been demanding smiling faces, and looking forward to the next game at Everton.”

Well, the lads now have the chance to put things right, after last week’s appalling result.

We have to hope they do just that.

Would love to see Nolan and gang put things right tomorrow. I’m not going to hold my breath though as I’m sure we’ll see the same starting 11 and I don’t think they can get it done at Goodison. We’ll see if CH has any surprises for us tomorrow. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I agree Toon, I think Hughtons gonna stick with what he has since the start of the season. I dont think thats a good thing at all.

    GK: Harper
RB: Raylor ( 1,00,00 times better than Perch)
    CB’s: Collo, Williamson
    LB: Enrique
    RW: Routledge
    CM: Tiote, Barton
    LW: Ben Arfa
CF’s: Carrol, MvLoven playing just off Carroll as per Nolan was more than half a yard short last game and Lovenkrands is the player you need gettin on the end of EVERY ball Carrol gets on the end of which is 9 out of 10.

I love the competition for starting places. It makes players want to work harder and harder to get a starting role. No player should be lacking off and be lazy.
