Is French Whiz Kid Yven Moyo Now At Newcastle?

The Newcastle Reserves side had a good 2-1 win at Wolves last night, and there was a Yven Moyo on the bench for the Newcastle side.

Yven Moyo – Newcastle sub last night for the Reserves

We have to assume this is the same Yven Moyo who Manchester United were interested in signing a short 18 months ago, and again over this summer, and the lad is an 18 year-old left-footed mid-fielder at Sochaux in France – and very highly rated.

Although the left-footed attacker Moyo is yet to make his Ligue 1 debut, the 18-year-old has a reputation as a big future talent, but his father admitted last year that he wanted Moyo to stay with Sochaux and get a good grounding in his trade – before moving abroad.

At that time his father Jean-Eudes Moyo said:

“A scout from Manchester United called me to say that the club was interested in Yven,” “They’ve monitored him since last year.” “At his age, I prefer that he stays here and matures before going elsewhere.”

We have to hope Newcastle are giving the 6′ tall youngster a trial on Tyneside, and of course Chris Hughton has already warned Newcastle fans that they will be cycling through some top youngsters at the club, as they decide whether to sign them.

We may even hear something about the lad from the club in the next couple of days on the player, if indeed he is now at Newcastle.

And here is a photograph form last night that seems to show the player on the bench behind coach Peter Beadsley.

In fact it’s on his personal facebook page that he is now at Newcastle. and make no mistake about it, this lad is a highly rated youngster in France.

Comments welcome.

What happened to the other Algerina French lad who came at the same time as Ben Arfa. Ben Helifa or something similar. Never heard any more.

Mind you if this lad signs that would be a major coup.

He looks like a great prospect for the future if Man U were interested in him!

Wahey. I’m obviously bias like but the fact that he has signed a 4 year deal is a positive for me – must rate him to sign him on a relatively long term deal
