The 19 year-old winger, on loan from Newcastle United through early January, hit home his second goal of the season for Brighton at home, against bottom of the table Brentford, last night.
Kazenga LuaLua – second goal for Brighton this seaosn
And that was with just 12 minutes to go in the game, and it was a nice drive from the edge of the penalty box to get Brighton all 3 points.
That leaves Brighton sitting on top of League One with 20 points from their first 9 games, and 3 points above second placed Bournemouth.
LuaLua has been a big favorite with the Seagull fans since first heading to the South Coast last season, and the Nigerian born winger admits that having their support is pushing him to bigger and better things for the club.
LuaLua spoke to The Argus today:
“The fans have been brilliant to me since I came here. They are always behind the team as well. Even though it was a bit frustrating last night they were still behind the team.”
“I would like to score as many goals as I can and also make assists for Ash, Glenn and Fran. I try my best every game I play to score goals or make goals for the others.”
“Everyone is fighting for a place, which is what you want. If you are playing well, then you keep your place in the team.”
It’s good that Kazenga seems to be following Newcastle manager Chris Hughton’s advice, that he has to start scoring more goals, and it’s also great to see Brighton doing so well this season.

Comment #4He’s Congolese born, not Nigerian, and yes, he does look like he could develop into a good damn fine EPL winger. Might give Routelidge a bit of a kick up the arse if we pulled him back.
