Andy Carroll Still To Sign New Contract At Newcastle

Newcastle number 9 Andy Carroll is expected to sign a four-year contract with Newcastle in the near future, and we’ve been told that for at least three months.

Andy Carroll – trying to kick Bilyaletdinov’s head off at Goodison 😀

Carroll seems to be handling his new found fame very well, although he has been rather quiet in his last couple of games for the Newcastle club.

Andy of course is now wearing Newcastle’s famous number 9 shirt, worn in the past by such Newcastle greats as Alan Shearer, Malcolm Macdonald, Jackie Milburn and Hughie Gallagher.

Andy has given an interview today with the local Evening Chronicle and says he only wants to stay at Newcastle, his local club he has supported since he was a kid.

Andy said today:

“That’s what I want to do – this is the team I want to be at.” “I want to sign another contract.”“I’ve just got to keep playing my football, and hopefully it’ll come.” “It was a dream to get the No 9 shirt and that’s what I am hoping continues for as long as possible.”

“We’ve got a good group here, and that’s what we’re aiming for.” “I want to be part of it.”“We know what our task is this season and it’s to stay in the league.” “Then it’s to move up the table and establish ourselves.”

The Newcastle Academy youngster has been at Newcastle for 11 years now, and was a star when Newcastle twice reached the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup recently.

Of course Newcastle have recently concentrated even more on bringing youngsters through on Tyneside.

And the fact we have youngsters like Haris Vuckic, Tim Krul, Fraser Forster, Nile Ranger, Ryan Donaldson, Shane Ferguson and Kazenga LuaLua coming through right now, to name but seven of our current crop, has to be very good news for the future of Newcastle United.

But we’d be a lot happier if Andy would sign his contract instead of keep saying he’s going to sign it – same too with Steven Taylor for that matter.

Could it be the Fat Cash is offering contacts under the average for young England Internationals?

Both Saylor and Carroll dragging their heals in signing. One of two things happening either the agents are being too greedy or club is being greedy.

Local, Internationals, want to play for the club. Get em signed up!
