Newcastle Becoming More Popular On TV

With some of the gutsy performances Newcastle have put in so far this season, it’s hardly surprising they are getting more of their games shown live on TV.

And it turns out that the KO times of three of  the club’s future PL games have been moved for live broadcast on TV.

Newcastle’s visit to West Bromwich Albion will now be on Sunday, December 5th with a 1.30pm KO time, and will be Sky Sports (Fox Soccer Channel in the US).

Liverpool’s game at St. James’ Park on Saturday, December 11th, has been moved back to a 5.30 pm KO time, and will be shown live by ESPN (ESPN 2 in the US).

And the last game moved is our game at Wigan Athletic, which will not take place on Sunday, January 2nd, and will have a 4:00 pm KO time, and will be broadcast live by Sky Sports.

We wouldn’t be at all surprised if Newcastle continue their gutsy kind of football,  that the lads will be on TV a lot more often, as the season progresses.

We just have to hope that we can start winning more of our games against the lesser sides of the Premier League – like Wigan at home a week come Saturday.

Comments welcome.

I know I’ve seen the lads here in the states in HD the last 2 weeks thanks to a FoxSoccerPlus free preview and FoxSoccerChannel. I’d love to be able to watch more on the big screen but most of the time I end up streaming them. Hopefully the increased popularity on that side of the pond will translate to big screen time for me. Looks like there are already 2 games I would have been streaming that I’ll now be watching in style!

Please stop referring to EPL teams as “lesser” teams. It’s the sort of arrogance that sees us drop 3 points at home to Blackpool and Stroke.

There are no lesser teams. Everyone is here on MERIT.

Guys, last season when playing in the 2nd tier of English football, NUFC were the 5th most televised team in the country. Now this is great news for us, but the fact is that the commercial tv companies know there is a market for our games and they attract large audiences, hence they can charge advertisers more, put simply our club is box-office, and it winds up the supporters of Villa/Spurs etc etc that knock us for being a “Sh!t club who’s never won anything!”
