Kevin Nolan – Ben Arfa Is In Good Spirits

Kevin Nolan has said today that his team-mate Hatem Ben Arfa is not feeling too down in the dumps –at the moment.

Ben Arfa – in action against Everton

Kevin told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast today:

“We’re absolutely gutted what’s happened with the start he had but that’s football unfortunately” “I’ve not managed to speak to him but I’ve sent a text to him.”

“His agent give me a text  saying he’s in good spirits. We’re absolutely gutted what’s happened with the start he had but that’s football unfortunately.”

“Hopefully he’ll be back as quickly as possible and he has a great recovery – that’s all were hoping for.”

We’re quite sure the Newcastle medical staff, the Newcastle players, and the Newcastle fans will wish Ben Arfa not only a quick recovery – but a rapid one too.

While most of the reports in the papers say it will be around six months before Ben Arfa can return, no official time-frame has yet been put on his return by the Newcastle club.

We are hoping he may get back before that six months is up – that’s just a hope at this point, and unless something unforeseen happens it seems the 23 year old will also become a Newcastle player permanently in the summer.

When you think back to that Everton game it just seems like such a waste that he’s injured for so long … can’t get it out my head either that he may not be the same player a la Eduardo.

It’s a case of if not when.

We crack on though, and one of team needs to step up to that role. Any thoughts any one? I would say Vuckic has got the (alleged) ability, but he hasn’t convinced so far.
