Sol Campbell Could Get First Premier League Start Today

With two successive league defeats and two successive home defeats,  Newcastle fans may be due for a bit of a surprise today, and hopefully a decent win.

Sol Campbell – first PL start today for Newcastle?

Chris Hughton has come out today and said it’s not how Wigan play today that will determine the outcome of today’s game, but how our lads apply themselves in a game we should win.

A 3-0 defeat at Manchester United was followed by a 6-0 hammering of  Aston Villa at home, but that;s the only win the lads have managed at home this season, losing the next two home games.

Chris talked about how it was how Newcastle play today that really matters:

“It’s about what we do, we have to go about our business,” “How good we are will determine what sort of Wigan we’re up against.”

“They’re a team in good form and are capable of winning wherever they go, we’ve got to make sure our game’s better than theirs.”

Hughton faces selection posers in central defense and up front in the striker positions.

Argentine Fabricio Coloccini has recovered well from a slight groin strain last time out, which gave Sol Campbell the chance to show what a competent and cool defender he still is against Manchester City.

But  we’ll just have to wait until about 30 minutes before the KO to see if Sol will make his first ever start in the Premier League for Newcastle today.

But we’ll just have to wait until about 30 minutes before KO time to see if Sol will make his first ever Premier League start for Newcastle.

Chris continued:

“Coloccini is fit and available so it’s one of those decisions I’ve got to make,” “Sol’s a big personality and more than anything he’s a good player.”

We need 3 points today and that’s the only thing that really matters right now, and then 10 points from our first 8 games will be a good return for the club.

I’m glad I’m not making the decision! Definately think we’ve got to sacrifice Nolan and go with two up front. Looking forward to seeing Hughton’s lineup…and three points.

Forget Sol v Coloccini. Play them both, with Coloccini at right back instead of Perch. Easy.

    Awesome fumaca

I’m sure that’s what’s everyone with half a football brain is thinking , but sadly I don’t think CH thinks sees these things or thinks outside the box (forgive the unintended pun !)

a totally none football question does everyone know with children at school or college can buy Microsoft windows 7 ultimate and office 2010 pro plus at massively reduced prices, I just took it that most new of it eg office 2010 pro for under £41 and windows 7 upgrade for under £60. I’m off to the game now hope I come home in a better frame of mind than the last 2 home games.

Not sure if that was a question or statement Dave 1961, but yes most Microsoft products can be bought as academic versions for much less than full price. Don’t think they always include full “pro” features though and you’d normally have to prove who the student is
