LuaLua Scores One And Makes One – All In 15 Minutes

Lua Lua was brought on for Brighton in the last 15 minutes of the game at Charlton Athletic yesterday.

LuaLua – 4th goal of the season for Brighton

But the 19 year-old Newcastle winger still managed to score another stunning goal from 20 yards out after 81 minutes, and then set up a fourth goal for Brighton in injury time, as they hammered Charlton 4-0 and remain 3 points clear at the top of League One.

If Kazenga keeps up this form and his new found goal scoring prowess – remember he hadn’t scored a senior goal before this season started,  when the Newcastle manager Chris Hughton told him he had to add goals to his game – then he will probably be recalled to Newcastle in January.

Certainly the DR Congo-born player is starting to score goals all right, and he’s now scored 4 gaols in 8 games for Brighton so far this season – not too bad at all.

And another of our loan players, goalkeeper Fraser Forster,  was in the Celtic team that won 2-1 at Dundee United this afternoon. Dundee United entered administration (bankruptcy) on Thursday, and sacked their manager Gordon Chisholm and his assistant Billy Dodds on Friday.

Celtic got two goals from Gary Hooper with the winner coming very late in the game,  in the 89th minute. Celtic are now top of the Scottish PL with who else – Rangers of course –  after 8 games with both teams having 100% records with 24 points.

And those two teams are an amazing 11 points clear of 3rd placed Motherwell – is the Scottish PL a two team league – or is it a two team league?

And Ben Tozer was sent off after 87 minutes in Northampton Town’s 4-3 defeat at home by Hereford United, for throwing the ball at a Hereford player. Ben is on loan at Northampton for a month.

And that defeat was after Northampton had been 3-0 up at half time in that game.

Comments welcome.

We didn’t get beaten yesterday because of lack of goals. It was because lack of defensive organisation!

We need this lad on the right wing, the hunger in him will be very useful in our situation

    Check this cracker out!

He’s so unbelievably two-footed, which I think is brilliant – especially with young players.

hughton really needs to realise that guthrie is not a rm, he is a cm…i would ratehr see lua lua or vuckic play there if he dosn’t fancy routledge

also i think the jury in on perch, he’s had plenty of games to stake a claim and he’s been guilty of conceding some easy goals…although simpson hardly the answer to our prayers…maybe s.taylor could be good there!! r.taylor should have been given a chance, his set pieces are very useful

also campbell needs to be put in to stop these leaking goals in place of williamson unfortunately

tiote is class and barton should remain, guthrie alongside barton could work well against west ham

carroll is our best striker and ranger and ameobi are good back up!

jonas looking good this season and routledge needs a kick up the ar*e, surely he must realize this is his last chance to shine in the premiership

krul hasn’t had much to do but de few shots that are on target seem to be hitting the back of the net!!

Ed, Dundee united are on exceptional financial footing.
A different team from Dundee went into administration, scottish division 1 team Dundee FC.
Chisholm was the Dundee united manager back in 2007 however

Aye, apparently he’s hit his girlfriend and had a ‘fight’ (don’t know if that’s words or fistycuffs) with Nolan. Apparently him and KN were getting along fine in training on Friday so I imagine it was just a little row, but the other one sounds more realistic.

Let’s just ope it’s not eh?

Just noticed a few people talking about it on .org. Apparently he was lifted today for bashing his lass last night or something.

To be honest, I can’t see Kev taking Andy’s shit. At least with Stevey Taylor you know he’s got a bit of an ego and has been known to be a bit of an arse in the back room, but the skipper?

Maybe he and his lass were arguing and Kev stepped in to stop it and got ‘caught in the crossfire’ or something. idk not much worth in speculating at this point in time.

Dont get me wrong hes a crackin player and id love him to settle down and stay bt we cant afford to hav people like him spoil a good atmosphere at the club and possibly get us relegated..also we wer abismal yday.!

I think if he was given a new deal he might stop second guessing himself and take more risks.

That said we haven’t been playing badly (in fact, we’ve played some good football lately), we just let complacency slip in now and then at times we really don’t need it.

As for Perch, I wouldn’t mind seeing him in a RM role as opposed to a RB, he’s not so bad going forward but he’s woeful when it matters in defence.

See, I still think it was good that Nolan was dropped (through broken jaw or otherwise). He’s been fairly consistent in form but he also needs to keep the performances we had last year in the CCC. Maybe a rest will do him good and we’ll see what he can really do in this league.

I really hope Kaz is on this purple streak because he’s naturally gifted and not because of the drop down in quality… I have my doubts about him. Regular playing time will do him no harm mind.

This guy LuaLua looks like a brilliant lad and one for the future. He has been knocking on the door for years now to break into the first team and just keeps trying. Once he comes back from loan I am more than certainly if we don’t buy no more wingers Routledge will be dropped, Ben Arfa will play just under Carroll like Kevin Nolan does now and Lua Lua will be owning the right wing. Can’t wait to see more of his devolopment.

CH is a nice manager for our current Owner.

But the team dnt play too impressively. But we
hope it will get nearer to the kind of football we wanted to watch sooner…but it needs time and money.

Manybe KK needs another kind of Owner. Not MA.

Sadly I think it’s all coming home to roost a bit with CH and Calderwood. We won the championship with the most expensive team.

Now at times we look as clueless as we did when we got relegated.

No plan B, over cautious, too much long ball and hit and hope crosses, ”untouchables” who are never dropped, very limited youth opportunities (Ranger – is he worse than Loven, Kadar – is he worse than Perch, Lua Lua – is he worse than Routledge ? etc) and some very dodgy signings (Perch, Best etc)

It gives the lie to clowns like Allardyce, Pulis and McCarthy who say they have to play a certain way as they don’t have the techncial players, when you see the way Wigan, West Brom and Blackpool play the game ”the right way” on equally limited resources.

Personally I think we missed a huge opportunity not taking a chance on a ”footballing” manager like Di Matteo, Martinez, Holloway or even Poyet lower down.

CH is a defensive coach and it shows. Then again he keeps playing Perch !!!!

Rotanda Heights, your comments made me laugh

No Plan B: He has started with 4-5-1 in most of his games, but has changed it to 4-4-2 according to the situation. And even played 3-4-3 in the last 5 minutes of the game.

4-4-2 leaves you exposed at the back with counter attacks, if you lose the ball in the midfield, thats exactly what happened against Wigan. In 4-5-1 you havebetter ball possession and can dictate the play.

    And who are those “untouchables”?
People said Alan Smith would never be dropped, result- dropped.
Nolan would never be dropped- dropped.
    Routledge was also dropped.
    He even dropped Andy Carroll.
And talking about Perch, do you have any better option there, R. Taylor, would also get the bashing if he would have been playing there….

And regarding Ranger, technically he is better than Ameobi and Carroll, but his finishing is poor, if he can start puting those balls behind the net, I think we will have a great striker on our hands….

And we have been outplayed in only 1 game at OT, its just that we dont have lady luck on our side.
