Carroll – He’s Done It Again – Charged With Assault

Something that Newcastle fans hoped they would never hear again, but it looks like Andy Carroll has got himself into trouble again, and has been charged with assault.

Andy Carroll – charged with assault – again

The 21-year-old played for Newcastle in their 2-2 draw against Wigan at the weekend, and will appear before magistrates in Hexham today.

A Northumbria Police spokeswoman confirmed:

“Andrew Thomas Carroll, 21, previously of Prestwick, Newcastle, has been charged with assault.

“He is due to appear before Tynedale Magistrates this morning.”

Carroll is also  due to be in front of the Newcastle Magistrates next Monday, 25th October, to face charges for his previous assault.

That one happened in a Newcastle night club about a year ago – but this unfortunately is something new – and of course this  altercation will hardly help his situation in that case next week, which is expected to last a few days.

We don’t know the extent of this yet, but this is not good news for Newcastle or the Newcastle faithful, and it seems that Andy hasn’t learned his lessons yet.

And this will, and should infuriate the powers that be at Newcastle United, because once again this will be bad news about the club,  which has nothing to do with what we are doing on the pitch.

And to think, Andy just signed a new and improved five year deal at the club – so let’s hope that’s not what he was celebrating that led to this new altercation. That would be ironic indeed.

Comments welcome.

Lets wait till we find out the details before we crucify the lad eh? It may just be an allegation which has got out of hand… on the other hand, if he is guilty, well, it’s open season as far as I am concerned!

Do not expect much else from the Daily Mackem(ail). As for Carroll – innocent until proven guilty. We have to wait and see but for the sake of the club (and his career) I hope he has not been an idiot over nothing. And since when did, according to this paper, Wigan outplay us for long periods?

Ok, my bad on post 10. Blame nufc.com for that gaffe! Looks like post 13 has it right from what I hear. Still don’t know the details, lost of speculation saying it’s his missus, and bizarely Nolan? (Would they really make him live with sombody he assualted?). Lets wait for the truth to come out before we judge.

    Agreed.

    this is from nufc.com….

Newcastle striker Andy Carroll was bailed by Tynedale Magistrates Court on Monday, after denying a charge of assault on Laurie Henderson (described as a former girlfriend) at a house in Darras Hall on Sunday morning.

As part of his bail conditions, Carroll has been ordered to reside with club captain Kevin Nolan at his Ponteland home. The case was adjourned until January 10th 2011.

Carroll does not have to stay overnight Nolan’s address when Newcastle are playing and ordered not to contact any prosecution witnesses. He’s claiming self-defence.

He probly gave her the hairy side because she was hitting him first. I doubt he would have just smacked her for no reason…

Well the list is certainly growing. His girlfriend, glassing the guy in the night club, N’Zogbia, Taylor, his girlfriend again !!

Trouble is we set a precedent by not doing anything about Barton and so they all think they can get away with it. Carroll is an oaf on good money and we all looked the other way because he scored a fair few goals.

Just look at him, he looks a complete and utter moronic thug and god knows what he’d be doing if he wasn’t a footballer. A bit like Rooney really.

With Carroll, we’ve developed ”Crouchitis” and I for one think it could be a blessing in disguise to actually get the ball down and play a bit.

Might be a good idea if we do`nt rush to judgement before we have the facts in front of us !
