Northampton Decide Not To Extend Ben Tozer’s Loan Deal

Northampton Town have decided not to extend the one month loan deal of Newcastle defender Ben Tozer.

Ben Tozer – loan deal not extended

The 20-year-old was sent of in the 4-3 loss to Hereford United last Saturday in the 87th minute, and would have missed out on the next three games in any case.

The loss occurred after Northampton had been comfortably 3-0 up at half time – with a Leon McKenzie hat-trick – we suppose Leon will need to score even more goals next time out. 😀

Ben was sent off for throwing the ball at a Hereford player, and since he arrived at Sixfields last month, he has played in six games, including the League Cup penalty shoot-out win at Liverpool, which was his first game for the club.

Ben scored one goal on loan, in the 2-0 win over Bradford City, but Northampton Town are still 3rd bottom of League Two on just 10 points after 12 games, but of course they are still in the Carling Cup and play at Ipswich Town next Tuesday in the 4th round.

Ben will be available for another loan spell if any club shows interest.

Another one not fulfilling potential it was assumed he had? Missing out on next three games – so he gets sent back. Common sense really?

If he goes about hoying the ball at opponents he’ll be known as Ben Tosser. Serve him right.
Shame as he got off to a flyer.
Hope not too late to learn a lesson.
