19 Year-Old Shane Ferguson One For The Future At Newcastle

One of the emerging stars at Newcastle, who is starting to make a name for himself  on Tyneside, is Northern Ireland International Shane Ferguson.

Shane Fergsuon – very promising youngster at Newcastle

The former left winger has been switched to left back, and starred in both Newcastle’s previous Carling Cup victories at Accrington Stanley and Chelsea, and will get another first team start on Wednesday in the 4th round at home to Arsenal.

The Derry-born 19 year-old has impressed both in training and in his two first team appearances for Newcastle this season, and he could well force his way into the side, anywhere on the left hand side for the club in the future.

It will be interesting to see which side Arsene Wenger will field on Wednesday night, but Wenger will not devalues the competition any longer, and will play a strong Arsenal side, and that will be another good test for the young Irish defender.

Hughton knows that Ferguson deserves his chance, after the player who wears number 31, has come on big time over the last 12 months:

“We’ve been delighted with his progress this season,” “He’s a small lad but he’s a tigerish player. He’s never been a problem, he trains very well and he’s got a lot going for him.”

Shane has just two first team appearances for the Newcastle side, but if Jose Enrique is injured any time this season,  there will be no reason to go out and get another loan player in to cover for the Spaniard, as young Shane has shown he can get the job done for the Magpies.

And Shane is just one of  the many young stars at the club, and the Reserves are now at the top of their Premier League Reserve division.

Guys, any of you spotted about miss understanding between Carroll and Joey and i think Joey very mad with Andy, see the goal celebration there no Joey instead he make a beauty cross.

And at the first half, about 20minutes of the game when Hammer got conner, there some fighting between Nolan and Joey, and second half about 70minutes of the game, Joey run with the ball with Carroll upfront alone running inside the penalty box, Joey not make passing to him.

I think there some fighting between them. Any idea guy, i just watch the match from t show so i don’t know any full view from the pitch.

And congratulation for the must win game last night, i enjoy the show, very very good game from Tiote, Colo, and Joey.

Buddy, it’s sport. People have small tussles with one another every now and then. I have the game recorded, just watched it again. They were having a pleasant go at each other but post match gave each other massive hugs. It’s all good. No need to make some thing out of nothing, think we should drop this. no negativity needed i reckon.

I I, watching it mate. He’s got a presence alrite, krul deserves his chance but there’s some thing about krul that doesn’t make me too confident. Forster to come back and give Krul a real go for that no.2 spot. Plus he’s english.

The reason why Joey was shouting at Carroll when corner was taken, because in one of the moves on the left flank Guti-Enrique and Carroll all went for the ball and there was acre of spaces in the center of the pitch and Carroll should have been in the center

umermaliknz, “Plus he’s english”. Great comment that. Take all the foreigners out of Newcastle and what would we have?

plus he’s english meaning, that he could play for england in the near future considering the lack of top class keepers that the national team has. on top of that, the quota of local players that we need to be accustomed to. hold your horses 🙂

    @Rashid: 20 saves, 2 clean sheets

The 3 he conceded today wasn’t his fault. First was an own goal, second was soft and third was a penalty.

For highlights (once they’re up, that is).

Hang on, I’ve got them mixed up (was thinking of Hooper’s goal – wish we’d grabbed that lad, shades of Shearer – when he isn’t making them he’s trying to knock them in).

First goal was soft (own goal), second goal was horrid defending and third was a penalty.

pearceet – advertising your own nufc blog on a very professional and established nufc blog isn’t really gonna get you conversions.

What incentive is there for anyone to leave this and follow yours.

Good luck with that Pearceet. I’ll have a look from time to time.
