Steve Clarke On His Way Back To Newcastle

We had suggested last week that Steve Clarke could be on his way to Newcastle as Chris Hughton’s new number two.

Steve Clarke – on his way back to Newcastle

The Sunday Sun is reporting that Steve Clarke is indeed on his way back to Newcastle United, for his second spell as coach at St. James’ Park.

It was a tough week for Newcastle last week and particularly for manager Chris Hughton, but as we are finding out about Chris – he’s a tough man, and can take the significant pressures that come with being Newcastle manager.

And the lads played their part yesterday, and after a dodgy start had Newcastle going behind 1-0 after just 12 minutes, the Magpies  completely dominated the game in the second half, and were worthy winners.

Goals from Kevin Nolan and Andy Carroll gave the team their second away victory in the league this season, and at bottom of the league West Ham.

The local Sunday paper (Sunday Sun) is reporting that the appointment of the highly-regarded Clarke, who was previously at the club under Ruud Gullit back in 1998, will significantly help Chris to continue to stabilize the club in England’s top division.

If indeed Steve is on his way to Newcastle, we would expect an appointment tomorrow, so Steve can come in quickly and help Chris prepare for our  two crucial home games against Arsenal  in the Carling Cup and Sunderland next Sunday.

Those are two games in which Newcastle must show an imporvement in their home form of late at St. James’  Park – which has simply not been good enough.

He’ll need to get a smile on his face instead of that look that he normally has which is enough to depress any player!! 🙂

Hmmm. This the same Sunday Sun who is banned from SJP for spreading BS constantly? The same paper who never lets the facts get in the way of a good story?

Would be a great appointment if Steve is coming to help us out but don’t bet on anything the local rag spews out.

Fingers crossed they’ve actually done something called investigative journalism this time!
